Thor: Love and Thunder may not be the most action-packed Marvel movie out there. It has some great set pieces to be sure such as the fights in New Asgard, Gorr’s dark realm, and the final conflict. However, above all else, this film is more preoccupied with being fun and random which will not please every fan and that is okay.
Thor: Love and Thunder, just like its predecessor with Thor Ragnarok, is hilarious. There are a lot of great bits and lines said by the main cast in this latest Marvel film. Who has the most and best quotes overall? The answer should be obvious but let’s dive into the spoiler zone to find out for sure.
8 “It Doesn’t Feel Like A Curse, It Feels Like A Promise.”
Gorr says this to his god after he stabs him in the chest. In disbelief, the wounded god warns Gorr about trusting the Necrosword. In a roundabout way, he says the sword is a curse on humanity and the gods but Gorr doesn’t seem to think so. This is a great first line from who will become the main villain of Thor: Love and Thunder. Gorr has plenty of other great deliveries in the film as well even though he isn't in it as much as some other Marvel villains.
7 “What A Classic Thor Adventure!”
There are too many great Thor quotes in the movie but this one has to be the first to highlight. He says this to the planet’s chief right after decimating the battlefield with little effort. Unfortunately, Thor went too hard on the temple as it starts to crash after he says this line. A classic Thor adventure dials things back to the first movie wherein Thor had little regard for people other than himself. With the temple falling and Thor smiling, that’s why the joke works so well.
6 “I Hope One Day You Can Feel This Shitty.”
Starlord says this to Thor as a parting gift. It may sound like a diss out of context but Starlord is trying to be genuine to Thor. He’s trying to tell Thor that it is better to love and loose that love than to not have love at all.
Losing love can make a person feel “shitty” as Starlord puts it but it also makes that person feel alive. This quote comes back later in a funny way as Thor tries to tell Jane he wants to feel “shitty” about her too.

5 “Stormbreaker, Is This About Mjolnir?”
This is another quote, out of context, that doesn’t seem that funny. The visual part of it makes it great though. After the first encounter with Gorr, the heroes have a meeting the next day. After a small debate, Thor launches himself into the air with Stormbreaker as he promises to find the children. Seconds later, Korg, Valkyrie, and Jane go over to the window to see Thor crash land and start to argue with his ax. All of the Stormbreaker jealousy stuff is hilarious in Thor: Love and Thunder.
4 “The Sink Would Say Otherwise.”
When viewers are introduced to Jane, she looks rough because of cancer. When she appears as Mighty Thor, she looks completely healthy. After the town hall meeting, Jane goes back to her room where she reverts to her normal self. The cancer is draining her body almost completely and she hates how weak she looks. That’s when she grabs the hammer and destroys the sink in a fit of rage. When Valkyrie comes to investigate, Jane says everything is fine. That’s when Valkyrie remarks about the sink, smirking because she knows the truth in Thor: Love and Thunder.
3 “You Liked It A Second Ago.”
This is another great moment with the movie's version of Gorr. Before him appearing before the children in their cage, Heimdall’s son, Axl, is telling a story about how Thor forged Stormbreaker in the head of a dead god. Everyone seems intrigued until Gorr appears to mess things up.
Gorr wants to tell a story about his snake friend and how it likes to get its head ripped off. The children were not a fan of when he died to which Gorr remarks with this line. He’s pointing out the hypocrisy of the children in the creepiest way possible.
2 “We Shall Not Feast On The Children.”
As Korg, Valkyrie, Jane, and Thor are departing New Asgard, Thor makes a promise to his people. He tells them they will bring the children back and then have a wonderful feast. He realizes his poor choice of words so he acknowledges that they will not feast on the children. He then trails off and talks about how those were dark times for the gods regarding child sacrifices in their mythology. As comedic of a movie as Thor: Love and Thunder is, it also gets dark which is funny in an awkward way.
1 “Eat My Hammer!”
Some of the funniest bits in the movie are how awkward Jane is regarding her newfound powers. In the city of gods, she’s trying out a few catchphrases in front of her team. “Eat my hammer” is one of them that no one seems to like. Even though she didn’t get a good reaction from it, she still uses this line as she defeats Gorr and shatters the Necrosword. As corny as it is, this is a badass moment for the female warrior. She whispers one more to Thor in her dying breath but the audience doesn’t get to hear it.
