RPGs had a successful year in 2022. They managed to reach new heights, which gave way for new stories to be told. This made them more accessible and able to reach a wider audience. Of the many RPGs that came out, many were easy to play. One of these which stood out was Torchlight: Infinite. The reason why it's so popular is that Torchlight: Infinite doesn't have a steep learning curve, so gamers will spend more time playing and less time adapting to its play style.

Much like other great action RPGs, Torchlight: Infinite players get to create their own experiences and playstyles, which come in the form of builds. Builds are made up of what players have on them, such as armor pieces, powerful two-handed weapons, and other types of gear and battle items. Weapons play a large role in any build, specifically one-handed weapons. In Torchlight: Infinite, these items are quick and stack damage. Just like two-handed weapons, though, not all are equal. This list will break down the best one-handed weapons in Torchlight: Infinite.

5 Farewell Desire

This is a great weapon for players who want to fight aggressively and hit more than once per attack. This gives the player and their team breathing room, which is much needed in the end game of Torchlight: Infinite. The game shares a quality with many easy-to-play RPGs, in that many weapons can make the game harder or easier. Farewell Desire does the latter for Torchlight: Infinite. Not only does it increase attack frequency, but it also increases the speed of the attack. This makes fighting much easier, both solo and with a party.

Plus, the Farewell Desire increases the player's chance of getting Multistrike, which allows them to hit an enemy a few times before they need to reset. On top of that, Farewell Desire increases Multistrike chance again after players do it to the initial enemy. While this may seem like a lot, when players execute this attack, they can do more to help the team.

4 Lotus Coffin

One of the best things about Torchlight: Infinite is that players can experiment with their builds, and create some niche play styles. Some incorporate specific attributes like elemental attacks, which create exciting moments. This allows players to be more versatile. Because the game features fluid classes, meaning players can frequently switch how they play, they can adapt to any situation.

This sword is a good example of the role that elemental attacks play. The sword inflicts Frostbite, which freezes the enemy, giving players and their team a chance for more head-on attacks. If players have an ice-centered build, most if not all, of these attacks do more. However, there is a 2% chance that after players attack an enemy, they'll get frozen as well. The trade-off is that if players are in that state, they can regenerate health at 50% per second.

3 Fatal Feast

Of all the one-handed weapons in Torchlight: Infinite, axes are the slowest and require players to take more damage when using them. However, the Fatal Feast Axe is a different story. When attacking with this axe, players have a chance of triggering Agility Blessing, which increases their attack speed and movement speed. Every time that effect stacks, players will get even faster.

The main aspect of Fatal Feast is for players to keep on attacking, for two reasons. First, as mentioned before it increases the chance of Agility Blessing to come into effect. Second, the critical strikes stack during these moments, so the player's damage output can be really powerful based on their speed. In the end-game of Torchlight: Infinite, if players keep on doing this, getting through that part will be easier.

2 Elemental Whirl

One of the best aspects of Torchlight: Infinite is how each weapon does a wide assortment of things. They can help players fight in many play styles and contribute to any build they're creating. These claws are a great highlight of that. The elemental attacks are important, and quite useful since most stack. They can give players and their party an easier time downing enemies because of the extra power.

Elemental Whirl stands out in this case, because when players are attacking with it, they can trigger an elemental effect on the enemy. This means players can start having a fire, ice, or wilt attacks. Then, while those effects are in play, the overall damage of whatever element is being used increases. So, if the Elemental Whirl triggers fire attacks, the player's attack is increased by 16%. And when they stack, it can do more. This is a great weapon for any build because as long as players are careful with it, using the elemental effects, they can be a threat in battle.

1 Spring Resurrection

Healing and staying alive as long as possible is crucial. When pieces of gear comes along to help with this, players should try them out. Torchlight: Infinite's combat is pretty hard, and when players progress further in the game, things can be downright impossible based on the number of enemies fighting them.

This wand plus the Vestment Song armor can make that combat easier to digest, since both pieces of gear have crucial healing components. While Vestment Song is increasing players' mana, shields, and health, Spring Resurrection works in tandem with it, so players can fight more aggressively. As long as players are casting spells, using the wand's skills will benefit them. Basically, if players are active during the fight, and offering support to their party, Spring Resurrection will allow them to take on more damage.

Torchlight: Infinite is available now on PC and Mobile.
