Mila Kunis is one of the actresses who got famous thanks to TV and moved to major movie productions after that. Born in Ukraine in 1983, Kunis started acting professionally when she was a child, in the mid-1990s. Her big break came when she played Jackie Burkhart in the popular sitcom That '70s Show.

Kunis was famously cast in the role even though she was a few years younger than required. Since then, she has appeared in multiple movies, TV series, and video games as well. With her newest movie Luckiest Girl Alive coming out, it's time to return to some of Mila Kunis' best movies.

5 The Book Of Eli (2010)

The Book of Eli 2010 Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis had a good year in 2010, having starred in three different movies. One of them was the post-apocalyptic thriller The Book of Eli about a man named Eli who travels across the ruined USA and comes across various people, some good, some evil. Mila Kunis' Solara is one of the good ones.

Solara works in a bar, but her life is far from happy and so she decides to leave with Eli. The movie offers more than one surprising moment, and the vision of the destroyed world is hauntingly beautiful. Mila Kunis is sympathetic as Solara, giving another solid performance. The role could have gone to Brie Larson but Kunis made it her own and the movie is a must-watch for all of her fans.

4 Gia (1998)

Gia 1998 Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis has been acting professionally for almost thirty years, since 1994, but most of her best movie roles show her as an adult. Those who would like to see Kunis act as a child should pay attention to the 1998 television movie Gia, which is based on real events. It follows the life of supermodel Gia Marie Curangi, her rise to fame as well as the problems she faced in her life.

Angelina Jolie gives a strong performance in the leading role, but Mila Kunis' part is also important as she portrayed Gia at the age of 11 (despite being a few years older at the time). The movie doesn't spare the main character, but it's easy to get invested in her fate, especially if the viewers don't know the story of the real Gia.

3 Ted (2012)

Ted 2012 Mila Kunis

Choosing between a best friend who also happens to be a talking bear toy, and a girlfriend is no easy task. John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) faces such a dilemma in this comedy movie. His girlfriend Lori, played by Mila Kunis, has a lot of patience with him. However, her patience runs out one day and Lori makes it clear that she wants to move forward with the relationship, preferably without Ted living in their home.

Even though the movie follows a storytelling pattern typical for many romantic comedies, it has the original bonus in the titular character, Ted, who likes to drink, loves the ladies, and overall, doesn't act like a child's toy. Ted overshadows both Wahlberg and Kunis, but their performances don't disappoint, and the chemistry and fraction between the characters add to the movie's charm. The movie earned a sequel in 2015, but Mila Kunis didn't appear in it.

2 Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)

Forgetting Sarah Marshall 2008 Mila Kunis

Just like some of the most talented actresses, Mila Kunis likes to switch between various genres. She's no stranger to romantic comedies, and her best work in this genre is the 2008 movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The movie tells the story of Peter (Jason Segel) who goes to Hawaii after his girlfriend Sarah (Kristen Bell) breaks up with him. Peter can't find peace even in Hawaii though, since Sarah shows up there with her new boyfriend. Mila Kunis plays Rachel, a receptionist at the hotel where Peter is staying in Hawaii.

Unlike Sarah, Rachel seems to like Peter, and the two form a relationship, but Sarah's arrival complicates things. Kunis is civil and funny in the role, and it's easy to understand why Peter would like her. When combined with the solid performances from the rest of the cast, and the beautiful setting, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is a fun piece that will remind the viewers of summer.

1 Black Swan (2010)

Black Swan 2010 Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis' best movie proves that she can draw attention to herself even when she appears in a supporting role. Kunis often plays the heroic characters, but in this movie, she's the antagonist. At least that's how the main heroine, Natalie Portman's Nina, sees her character Lily. Lily has her eyes set on the part that went to Nina and, as her alternate, she could get it if Nina isn't capable to play the part of the Black Swan accordingly. As a result, the desire to succeed drives Nina to the edge of destruction.

It's difficult to decide what to think of Lily, whether she's indeed as bad as Nina sees her, or whether it's all in Nina's head. As Nina loses her contact with reality and succumbs to her visions more and more, including one erotic fantasy about Lily, the movie becomes more ambiguous, leading to an open ending that had many viewers scratching their heads and discussing what happened. Kunis' mysterious performance fits her character well, and it's easy to love to hate her in the role.
