The majority of video games in modern times feature brooding characters with dark hair anyway, so there's obviously something that just works about this hair color. Of course, characters like Micah and the incessant nagging of the Pinkertons did take their toll on his psyche, but the dark-haired antagonist had no one but himself to blame for the gang breaking up. The Mad Dog of Shimano played by his own rules and held Kiryu in high regard as well. His flamboyant and unpredictable attitude makes him one of Yakuza's best characters.

5 Franklin Clinton (Grand Theft Auto 5)

Franklin is one of the three protagonists that players get to control in Grand Theft Auto 5. He's the only character who can't die in the game's ending and plays a major role in helping both Michael and Trevor patch up their issues and fight against their common enemy.

His ability lets players weave through traffic and carry out extreme turns more easily in a vehicle. It's a ton of help, and Franklin's grounded nature makes him a pretty fun character to interact with as well.

4 Zack Fair (Final Fantasy 7)

Spider-Man: Miles Morales was a great way to introduce this new Spidey to players. His flashy electrical moves and unique combat skills make him a fresh change of pace, albeit without straying too far from the principles of a traditional Spider-Man game.

Since Peter was already acclimatized with his Spidey Powers by the time the first game rolled around, seeing Miles come to grips with his new abilities in Miles Morales is a blast. It's easy to see why fans are hyped to the moon and back for the game's sequel.

2 Nathan Drake (Uncharted)

Everyone's favorite smart-mouthed protagonist is another example of a video game placing a white man with dark hair in the lead. However, once again, all is forgiven once players get to see just how charismatic and entertaining Drake's character really is.
