It's hard to meet a person on this planet that hasn't heard of the Looney Tunes. Whether it's from the incoming Space Jam movie or the over ninety years of cartoon programming, Bugs and the gang are beloved household icons to one and all.
Being such a storied franchise, it comes as no surprise that many Looney Tunes video games have been created over the years. While some were kind of rough, there were a few so amazing they are still worth picking up for players today.
10 Looney Tunes (GameBoy)
One of the simplest tie-ins to the franchise, Looney Tunes was a platformer featuring Daffy Duck, Tweety, Porky Pig, Taz, Speedy Gonzales, the Road Runner, and Bugs Bunny. Each character had its own unique levels to go through with its own mechanics.
While the game isn't that impressive for casual playthroughs, it's an amazing game for those interested in speedrunning as it contains many curious tricks. It's been featured at several large events and the game can be beaten in almost under ten minutes.
9 Duck Dodgers Starring Daffy Duck
This game was a collectathon that had Daffy Duck in his famous sci-fi persona trying to get energy atoms, defeat bosses, and unlock new planets to explore. The game shows its age these days, but as one of the first attempts to bring Looney Tunes games into 3D, it did an excellent job. The game also had Rumble Pack compatibility and even kept save data on its cartridge unlike most games released in that era.
8 Tiny Toons Adventures: Buster's Bad Dream
Buster's Bad Dream was the last Tiny Toons game to ever be released and it's a shame more fans don't remember it. Unlike most other titles for the cartoon franchise, this game decided to be a unique combo-based brawler instead of a simple platforming game.
In fact, the game's mechanics were so good it went on to inspire Astro Boy: Omega Factor which received incredible reviews by critics, unlike the Tiny Toons title. Hopefully, more gaming fans will track down this old GameBoy Advance game to give it a try.
7 Bugs Bunny: Lost In Time
Bugs Bunny being transported literally to Nowhere was a solid enough joke in itself, but the platforming this Playstation 1 game had to offer really sealed the deal for most players. It's hard to expect much from licensed video games, but Behavior Interactive made sure a lot of love was poured into this title.
It was popular enough to even inspire a sequel, which brought its mechanics to an even higher level.
6 Bugs Bunny & Taz: Time Busters
Once released alongside Wacky Races in a special twin CD pack, Time Busters was a collectathon that added a lot to the typical Looney Tunes platformer formula. With Taz in the mix, players had a whole new range of movement options. It also included a co-op mode making it much easier to enjoy its goofy antics with a friend.
5 Looney Tunes Racing
It's hard to name a popular TV franchise without a kart racing title these days. Still, Looney Tunes Racing was done far better as it wasn't haphazardly slapped together by its developers. It had several difficulty levels ranging from Rascal to Despicable. Between Acme Challenges, the Championship mode, and good old-fashioned multiplayer races, it kept fans of the franchise invested for countless hours.
4 Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose
Buster Busts Loose wasn't just one of the best Looney Tunes games — it was one of the best platformers on the SNES. It's often listed in top 100 games lists for the console and is fondly remembered by anyone who took the time to play it.
With only six levels in the game, it feels like the game should end quickly, but good luck trying to beat the game in hard mode. It's required to play through the final level of the game and the challenge is enough to stump even the best gamers.
3 Looney Tunes: Space Race
While the Playstation 2 version was panned by critics, Looney Tunes: Space Race for the Sega Dreamcast is among the highest-rated games of the franchise according to critics. It's by far the best kart racer on the entire console and is incredibly smooth to control while nailing the classic cartoon humor that keeps the game fresh in the genre even to this day.
2 Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem
Any game with Big Chungus has to be amazing, right? All memes aside, World of Mayhem actually works well for a franchise as long-running as the Looney Tunes. The gatcha style of the game allows players to make teams with even the most obscure choices and gives them a deep library to pull from for new characters in the game.
It may not be Genshin Impact, but it's still a load of fun and has a lot of strategies for players to learn and implement.
1 Looney Tunes: Sheep Raider
Sheep Raider is by far the most unique and original game made with Looney Tunes characters. it embodies the cartoons in a way no other game has, with players buying ACME items as Wile E. Coyote to try and steal sheep from Sam Sheepdog.
The game has so much of the humor the series is known for while still providing some impressive puzzle mechanics that can actually keep players engaged. It's a hidden gem on the Playstation that too many gamers have sadly forgotten.
