Video game writers are given an incredibly difficult task when designing a game's characters. To create a captivating character, developers must ensure that they write engaging dialogue for them. Sometimes a character can be exceptionally well-written, but a good script does not always make a good character.
A good character needs a talented voice actor behind them to further enhance their depth. Laura Bailey is undoubtedly one of the most talented voice actors in the gaming industry due to her incredible acting range. 10 Oriana Lawson (Mass Effect 2)

Introduced in Mass Effect 2, Oriana Lawson has one of the more devastating backgrounds in gaming. Created solely as a replacement for his daughter, Henry Lawson artificially creates Oriana to replicate what was once a happy father-daughter relationship.
Though she is not an overly present character in the series, Bailey's voice-acting abilities add a great deal of charm to what could have easily been an empty character. Oriana quietly undergoes an inner battle as she attempts to find a larger purpose for herself, though her story may not have been as compelling were it not for Bailey's talents.
9 Fetch (Infamous)
Abigail Walker, also known as Fetch, is one of the most powerful protagonists turned antagonists in the Infamous series. Introduced in Infamous: First Light, Fetch is presented as a magically gifted young woman in a world that seeks to control her.
Laura Bailey approaches this character with great respect for her history. Her voice emphasizes determination with an underlying tone of uncertainty and fear. For how shockingly erratic Fetch is, Bailey manages to give her a voice that captures her personality perfectly.
8 Catherine (Catherine)
The game Catherine centers around a main character of the same name. She initially appears to be a romantically inclined individual who seeks the affection of a man named Vincent. As the narrative progresses, Catherine reveals her interest in Vincent is more sinister than players may have first thought.
Catherine is revealed to be a wolf in sheep's clothing. Disguised as a young woman on a quest for love, her primary goal is to lure men into her clutches before delivering whatever harm she deems fit. The voice Bailey gives to Catherine renders the player as unsuspecting as the men she seeks to punish.
7 Supergirl (Injustice 2)
Tasked with rescuing her cousin from imprisonment, Supergirl journeys to Earth to protect Kal-El by any means necessary. Though she is surrounded by people who aim to manipulate her, Kara is morally obligated to do what is right.
Not many are capable of voicing a god-like entity in any form of media, but Bailey is an exception. She applies a great deal of emotion to this conflicted superhero. So much, in fact, that fans are quickly given the chance to relate to her, even though they retain very few similarities to monstrously powerful beings.
6 Rise Kujikawa (Persona 4)
Rise Kujikawa is an outspoken and flirtatious young woman who is regarded as something of an icon by her fans. She opts to return to Inaba while taking a break from her career and becomes one of the most pivotal characters in Persona 4.
Laura Bailey's performance as this intimidating yet endearing character fits her personality perfectly. Behind Rise's innocent demeanor lies a manipulative nature that many tend to ignore. Bailey's talent in voice acting allows Rise to hide these more sinister intentions behind her feigned charm.
5 Mary Jane Watson (Marvel's Spider-Man)
Marvel's Spider-Man is host to an array of incredibly talented voice actors, but Bailey's performance as Mary Jane Watson is often overlooked in favor of Yuri Lowenthal's performance as Spider-Man.
The voice she chooses to apply to Mary Jane is a calm and collected one, a major contrast to the more upbeat tone conveyed by Peter Parker. Her ability to think logically and strategize is emphasized through the affirmative voice Bailey provides her with.
4 Catwoman (Batman: The Telltale Series)

Catwoman, also known as Selina Kyle when unmasked, is one of the few characters present in the Batman franchise to have power over Bruce Wayne. Voiced by Laura Bailey in Batman: The Telltale Series, she is given a far deeper personality than she is in most other media.
Kyle is a manipulative thief who seeks to achieve her goals via deception and manipulation. Her unpredictability is echoed by Bailey's performance, removing all suspicion from her. Her captivating voice may leave the player scratching their head upon discovering her true motivations.
3 Serah Farron (Final Fantasy 13)
Final Fantasy 13 marks the introduction of Serah Farron, Lightning's younger sister. Since Lightning is such an iconic character in the Final Fantasy series, Bailey's performance as Serah can often go unnoticed.
Serah receives the opportunity to become one of the main protagonists in the game's sequel, Final Fantasy 13-2, permitting Bailey to demonstrate her talents without any opposition. Many fans argue that her story is lacking in-depth, but it is impossible to deny the endearing nature of Serah's voice.
2 Abby (The Last Of Us Part 2)
The introduction of Abby in The Last of Us 2 marks one of Laura Bailey's most emotional performances in a video game. Consumed by thoughts of revenge, Abby spends the opening parts of the game hunting down her father's killer.
Once she achieves her revenge, the rest of the game presents her as a passionate individual with a strong love for her friends. Bailey is forced to switch between two contrasting personalities while voicing Abby, and her incredible talents permit her to do so successfully.
1 Kaine (NieR)
Laura Bailey's performance as Kaine in NieR is without a doubt one of the most powerful voice-acting performances in gaming history. Kaine has no filter, so if her terrifying choice of words does not intimidate her foes, her skills with a blade certainly will.
Given the opportunity to unleash the true extent of her full voice acting skill set, Bailey contributes more personality to Kaine than the written word ever could. The feelings of aggression and fury in her character are ludicrous, but Bailey's performance makes it believable.
