Nintendo Switch Sports is a delightfully fun if sometimes barebones sports game that provides single-player or multi-player versions of soccer, tennis, badminton, chambara, bowling, and volleyball. These games offer a lot of fun, especially with the finely tuned Nintendo Switch motion controls. Being able to play these sports locally or online is a blast, especially because players get to unlock tons of cosmetic goodies along the way.

For players craving a similar sports-adjacent experience or have currently exhausted their time with Nintendo Switch Sports, worry not, since there are plenty of other great games to try out. From sports games to exercise games to sports-adjacent games, there is likely something on this list that will cater to fans of Nintendo Switch Sports.

8 Wii Sports

Wii Sports is, of course, the progenitor of Nintendo Switch Sports. This incredibly fun sports compilation came packaged with every Nintendo Switch console and allowed players to enjoy the unique Wii motion controls, something that elevated this game even more.

The sheer simplicity of each sport and how it just allowed players to relax and enjoy each of them still manages to provide a lot of fun for people, well over a decade later. It's no surprise that people of all ages flocked to the Nintendo Wii, especially since it offered casual yet immersive games like Wii Sports.

7 Ring Fit Adventure

Ring Fit Adventure might just be one of the most unique and compelling genre mashups in all of gaming. Combining a traditional exercise-based game with a fully-fledged RPG, Ring Fit Adventure perfectly tows the line between having fun, progressing a story, and burning some calories along the way.

Ring Fit Adventure sees the player's customizable character tracking down a hench, swole dragon, and his minions. Along the way, players will take part in cardio and strength-building workouts that act as turn-based battles. Of course, this is barely scratching the surface of the nuances of this game, one that gets players sweating but also leveling up along the way.

6 Golf Story

Golf Story might not be an exact similarity to something like Nintendo Switch Sports, however, what it lacks in actual player movement, it more than makes up for in a charming Nintendo-esque sports story, plenty of golfing fun, and a fleshed-out RPG system to boot.

In Golf Story, players get to walk around and golf in the shoes of a golfer who is given another chance at becoming a golf pro and legend. Playing out across various vibrant biomes, eager golfers will enjoy a game that is both heartwarming, challenging, and a whole (pun very much intended) lot of fun.

5 Jump Rope Challenge

Jump Rope Challenge is a unique mini-experience that isn't so much of a game that it is a tool for counting how many times players jump rope as an exercise. Jump Rope Challenge is a completely free "game" that has players use the Joy-Cons to mimic jumping rope over and over as the game tallies up how many times players do this each day.

Interestingly, Jump Rope Challenge is a Nintendo developed and published experience. There really isn't much to this "game" but players are at least encouraged to get fit while jumping rope and keeping track of their stats each day on the Switch.

4 Fitness Boxing

Fitness Boxing is another fitness-focused game, similar to that of Ring Fit Adventure, but this time focusing on boxing as an exercise, as the game's title implies. Fitness Boxing is quite a robust experience and allows players to engage in simple to complex boxing routines that the game encourages players to take part in regularly throughout the week.

Using the Joy-Cons, players will work with a virtual trainer to perform jabs, uppercuts, and all manner of punches to the beat of many licensed tracks. The ability to stay in rhythm while punching and moving is not an easy feat but the game gives players plenty of opportunities to master and hone their skills.

3 Instant Sports Plus

Instant Sports Plus might look quite generic, bland, and lackluster on the surface but it actually hides quite a bit of gameplay depth, as long as players can look past the game's inherent jank and shovelware feeling. Instant Sports Plus, which was originally called Instant Sports Paradise, has players explore a tropical island on foot where they can stumble across various summer-themed sports.

There are actually quite a few Instant Sports games and while none of them are revolutionary or even much fun past a few hours, once some family and friends are on board, the game becomes much more enjoyable. Being able to customize a player character while wakeboarding, jet skiing, and playing mini-golf does provide some fun in short bursts.

2 Mario Party Superstars

Mario Party Superstars offers a pretty different spin and take on something like Nintendo Switch Sports. Eschewing sports mini-games in favor of party mini-games and multiple revamped party game boards, Mario Party Superstars is a fantastic game that keeps players invested turn after turn with fun Nintendo characters, themed areas, and plenty of items to use.

While Super Mario Party before it might have been quite trivial and boring, Superstars ups the ante by providing a "return-to-form" with mini-games, modes, and boards from the Nintendo 64 era of the long-running and beloved franchise.

1 Mario Golf Super Rush

Mario Golf Super Rush is pure cartoony arcade golfing at its finest. While not as beloved as something like Mario Golf 64, Mario Golf Super Rush packs in a ton of golfing fun in and around the Mushroom Kingdom. Players get to enjoy a full story mode on top of the plethora of multiplayer offers for those looking to share the green with friends or family members.

The most unique aspect of Super Rush is that players actually run from hole to hole across each of the diverse and vibrant themed courses. Instead of just being whisked away to the next hole, players are encouraged to race, run, and use their character's special abilities to make it there quickly and efficiently.
