There are numerous monsters that carry this typing, but not all have equal prowess. While some Flying-types possess lackluster abilities, some are extremely useful and show absolute power in multiple situations.

Many players are constantly racing to figure out the best Pokemon to use. When it comes to Flying-types, there are an impressive number of monsters with this type in the game. Each monster has unique power and abilities, but some reign as the strongest in Pokemon GO.

10 Charizard

Charizard has been a fan-favorite since its debut. The monster might resemble a dragon, but is of a dual Fire/Flying-type. This fire-breather has a maximum Pokemon GO CP of 3266, with a stat spread of 223 Attack, 173 Defense, and 186 Stamina Power.

Charizard’s best moves in Pokemon GO are Fire Spin (STAB Potential) and the Legacy Charge Move Blast Burn (STAB Potential), resulting in (14.66 DPS). The monster is weak against Electric, Rock, and Water-type attacks but can easily resist Bug, Grass, Fairy, Fighting, Fire, Ground, and Steel-type moves.

9 Moltres

7 Dragonite

5 Landorus

Landorus is a Forces of Nature trio member in the Pokemon Franchise. This Legendary is a Ground/Flying-type with a maximum CP of 4057 in Pokemon GO. Landorus’s stat spread comprises 261 Attack, 182 Defense, and 205 Stamina Power.

The best moveset for this Pokemon combines Mud Shot (STAB Potential) and Earth Power (STAB Potential), resulting in 14.54 DPS. Its dual typing weakens it against Ice and Water-type attacks, but makes it resistant against Ground, Bug, Electric, Fighting, and Poison-type moves.

4 Ho-Oh

The best movest for Ho-OH combines Extrasensory and Brave Bird (STAB) (14.98 DPS). This monster is weak to Electric, Rock, and Water-type attacks while showing resistance against Bug, Grass, Fairy, Fighting, Fire, Ground, and Steel-type moves in Pokemon GO.

3 Lugia

The dual Psychic/Flying-type Legendary Lugia is well-known for its powerful abilities. With a maximum CP of 4186, the monster has a defense-focused stat spread with 310 Defense Power. Its Attack stat is 193, which is decent enough, but its Stamina stat of 235 steals the show, making it an absolute tank in a battle of endurance.

Lugia also has access to some of the best moves on the platform. Lugia’s best moveset combines Dragon Tail and the Legacy Charge Move Aeroblast (STAB Potential), resulting in 12.68 DPS. While the Legendary is weak against Dark, Electric, Ghost, Ice, and Rock-type attacks, it can easily resist Fighting, Ground, Grass, and Psychic-type moves.

2 Yveltal

The Legendary dual Dark/Flying-type Yveltal is also known as the Destruction Monster. Its Pokemon GO stat spread shows a highly offensive set of 250 Attack, 185 Defense, and 246 Stamina Power. With a maximum CP of 4275, the monster can also access some of the most powerful moves.

Yveltal’s best moveset combines Sucker Punch (STAB Potential) and Hurricane (STAB Potential), resulting in 14.66 DPS. The monster performs weakly against Electric, Fairy, Ice, and Rock-type moves, while resisting Ground, Psychic, Dark, Ghost, and Grass-type attacks in battle situations.

1 Rayquaza

Rayquaza is one of the most potent Legendary in Pokemon GO, and the monster is a dual Dragon/Flying-type. With a maximum CP of 4336, the Legendary Pocket Monster’s stat spread consists of 284 Attack, 170 Defense, and 213 Stamina Power. Additionally, this Legendary is the first ever monster to Mega-Evolve in the entire Pokemon lore.

The Legendary’s best moveset combines two dDagon-type attacks with STAB potential. Dragon Tail and Outrage are two of its best moves and deal a combined DPS of 17.87. The dual typing of this monster makes it weak to only Dragon, Fairy, Ice, and Rock-type attacks, and gives it resistance to Grass, Ground, Bug, Fighting, Fire, and Water-type moves.
