The Dragon Age series has a diverse cast of characters, where a cosplayer has a lot of designs and personalities to choose from. Men, women, LGBT characters, mages, warriors,  spirits, rogues, elves, dwarves, qunari, Dragon Age has it all for fantasy cosplayers in just the span of three main games.

We scoured the internet and found ten Dragon Age cosplays we thought were worth sharing. We linked the cosplayers and photographers when we could find them, so please check out their pages!

10 The Inquisitor And Morrigan

Due to sizing reasons, you cannot see Morrigan's full dress in this cropped photo, but you can see it on the costume designer's website. It is definitely one of the more difficult or expensive costumes to get for a Morrigan cosplay. The dress is massive!

While the Inquisitor has a ton of races and looks, a quick way to cosplay them and make sure they are recognizable is to wear their iconic dragon helmet from the posters and trailers.

9 Merrill

This gorgeous Merrill cosplayer is done by the talented Lucky Strike Cosplay.  Other characters she has cosplayed include Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn, Tauriel from The Hobbit films, Max from Life is Strange, Lina from Dota 2, and more.  The cosplayer also has a shop for cosplay enthusiasts. The photo was done by Annet Voronaya and the make-up was done by Int0 Xi Kate.

8 Genderbent Varric

Varric is one of Dragon Age's coolest characters. Dwarf characters are often bound to tradition, but Varric is one who prefers to be his own man above ground.

Being a character who is known for his hairy chest, most would not think of a genderbent version of him. That is part of what makes this cosplay by MonkeyDKiba so awesome. The hair, the outfit, and her chill photograph poses just feel so much like Varric. Her other cosplays have included Ursula from The Little Mermaid, Snow White, Yubaba from Spirited Away, and more.

7 Cullen

Next to Alistair, Cullen wins the prize for most adorkable Dragon Age character. Due to that, he is a popular choice for cosplay. Some even implement his lion helmet which we only get to see once in the game.

According to the photographer of this cosplay, the model's name is Leandro Botelho but we could not find him online. The photography was done by santosphotocosplay. The likeness between the model and character is great enough that this looks like a screenshot from a live-action Dragon Age movie.

6 Solas

Here we have Solas in the outfit he wore in the Trespasser DLC. The costume was made by Yume Cosplay. The photo was done by eosAndy.

Solas has evolved into one of Dragon Age's most interesting characters and we have our fingers crossed in seeing a lot more of him in the next game. Usually when you see a cosplay of him, a Lavellan Inquisitor is not far behind him. His Trespasser outfit looks like a much bigger project to make than his normal (what some calls call his "hobo") outfit.

5 Cassandra

This cosplayer is Hydra Evil and the photo was done by Akami.  Hydra Evil's other cosplayers include female Joker, the Inquisitor from Dragon Age, and more.

Cassandra is one of Dragon Age Inquisition's most popular female characters. She is strong, thoughtful, and has a love of trashy novels. She was first introduced in the second game as she was investigating what happened in Kirkwall, but became a central character in Inquisition. Everyone wanted to romance her, and who can blame them? She is tough and romantic and Hydra Evil really captured that in her expressions as she wears Cassandra's armor.

4 Leliana

This photograph was taken and edited by Nebulaluben and the cosplayer and costume designer is ivettepuig. Besides Leliana, ivettepuig has also cosplayed characters from a mix of comics, anime, and video games such as The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, Borderlands, Code Geass, Catherine, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and more.

Leliana is a character that changed a lot and has had a presence in the three main games. She went from an optimistic bard who loved the Maker to someone much more bitter and cynical in Inquisition. However, your choices can influence how she really turns out in the end.

3 Hawke

Cosplayer is Soylent Cosplay and she has also done Liara from Mass Effect, Darth Talon from Star Wars, and more. The photo was taken by Harmaine Morgan Photography.

Hawke is the main protagonist of Dragon Age II and while some fans were frustrated that you could only play as a human character, a lot of cosplayers loved the design of the default look. Mage Hawke is especially popular since they were the one shown in the trailers and posters. Also, staffs are fun to design and carry around. Besides Hawke, Soylent Cosplay has also done a qunari cosplay.

2 Isabella

This cosplay was done by yakfrost. Other characters she has cosplayed include Jinx from Teen Titans, genderbent Ezio from Assassin's Creed, Chel from The Road to Eldorado, Stevonnie from Steven Universe, Asahina from Dangan Ronpa, and more. On her tumblr, she wrote that Isabella is one of her favorite video game characters.

While Isabella first appears as a minor character in Dragon Age Origins, she became a major one in Dragon Age 2. She is an interesting character because she was once a trophy wife until her husband was assassinated (by Zevran actually). Then she became a pirate!

1 Krem

This cosplay was done by hattedhedgehog. They describe themselves as an illustrator, Krem cosplayer, and ex-theme park artist.

Krem is not a major character in the Dragon Age series, but he won the hearts of many due to his transgender identity. The Dragon Age series as always had LGBTQA characters, and while Krem is the only trangender one in the games, there is another one that came before him in the comics that we may see in future games: Maevaris.  Besides his gender identity, Krem is a loved character for his friendship with the Iron Bull.
