Even after decades, Game Freak continues to find unique designs for its Pokemon, as seen in the arrival of Scarlet and Violet. However, way before Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's release, fans were putting together their own ideas for Pokemon, with many going down the route of fusing two existing ones.

With an abundance of fusion generators on the web, it is easier than ever to create magic and generate a few Pokemon fusions that would be perfect for an official game.

Updated on May 1, 2023, by Izabella Molina: Since its inception, the Pokemon franchise has been wowing fans with its creative and often intricate designs. However, the franchise has stayed away from fusions, which means fans will have to turn elsewhere to explore this avenue. The most appealing aspect of Pokemon fusions is the ability to take two starkly different designs and see which details pull through when they are fused together.

Moreover, now that over 1,000 Pokemon have been introduced due to the release of Scarlet and Violet, all with vastly unique designs, any potential fusion will undoubtedly be stunning and detailed. Therefore, this article has been updated to include more fusions that consist of Pokemon with completely contrasting designs.

Japeal.com was used as a source to generate these Pokemon fusions.

14 Bounvolt (Bounsweet + Vikavolt)

BounvolImage of a cross between a Bounsweet and a Vikavolt

With such an intimidating Bug Pokemon like Vikavolt, the last Pokemon that would complement it in a potential fusion would be a pretty Grass Pokemon like Bounsweet. But surprisingly, Bounsweet's color scheme proves to be a nice alternative to Vikavolt's physical appearance.

A potential typing for Bounvolt would be the dual Bug and Grass-type; naturally, the Electric typing would be lost due to Bounsweet's plant-like color scheme. Overall, with Vikavolt's mandibles absent, Bounvolt turns out to be a rather cute flying beetle, not unlike a beetle someone would see every day. Be sure to think twice before squashing this little beetle!

13 Pyukugrigus (Pyukumuku + Cofagrigus)

Image of a cross between a Pyukumuku and a Cofagrigus

Much like Bounvolt, Pyukumuku proves to be a surprisingly compatible fusee for Cofagrigus, resulting in the goofy-looking Pyukugrigus fusion. Though Pyukugrigus's design still looks rather dark, a trait obviously derived from Cofagrigus, the overall result is still reminiscent of Pyukumuku due to its face and color scheme.

As both Cofagrigus and Pyukumuku are monotype Pokemon, Pyukugrigus would undoubtedly be a Water and Ghost Pokemon. However, one point of contention with this fusion would be its ability; though Pyukugrigus seems more suited for the Mummy ability, the presence of Pyukumuku's mouth also grants the possibility of the Innards Out ability.

12 Regipinch (Regigigas + Trapinch)

Image of a cross between a Regigigas and a Trapinch

Blending a legendary Pokemon with a more common monster is simply too tempting when playing around with fusions. Whenever a legendary Pokemon is fused with a non-legendary, the result can look anywhere from absolutely majestic to completely messed up, especially if one of the fusees has an awkward design.

Enter Regipinch, the hypothetical Normal and Ground addition to the Legendary Golems. Despite inheriting Trapinch's Ground typing, Regipinch's color scheme could also suit the Grass-type due to the green presence in Regigigas's color scheme. If there was ever a need for another Legendary Grass Pokemon, Regipinch would fit into the role quite nicely.

11 Zuix (Zubat + Onix)

Image of a cross between a Zubat and an Onix

Most Pokemon fusions involve both fusees being completely different types, and the Zuix fusion follows this trend quite accurately, resulting in a rather monstrous appearance. This great dual Poison and Rock type fusion is reminiscent of a cave monster that thrives in the dark; this is quite fitting considering that its fusees, Zubat and Onix, are the most common cave-dwelling Pokemon in the series.

An alternate typing to Zuix would be Flying and Ground, though this typing would conflict with the fusion's overall design. Aside from this dilemma as well as this fusion's completely useless wings, Zuix would definitely give a good scare to anyone unfortunate enough to encounter it in a cave.

10 Emporaptor (Empoleon + Staraptor)

Image of a cross between an Empoleon and a Staraptor

A cross between an Empoleon and a Staraptor, Emporaptor seems like both a regional bird and more like a legendary bird. Easily the most distinctive features of this fusion are the bird of prey physique and the three horns on its face, which stem from the two Pokemon from which it is based.

In regard to its type, Emporaptor has two possibilities: Water and Flying or Normal and Steel; the former would most likely be appropriate due to its blue appearance. However, the blue and yellow crest may be out of place to some fans.

9 Mawnium (Mawile + Meganium)

Image of a fusion between Meganium and Mawile from Pokemon

Possibly one of the more intimidating Pokemon fusions, Mawnium, as the name suggests, is a cross between a Mawile and a Meganium. Upon closer inspection, Mawnium appears to be part flower and part Venus flytrap; the latter is especially appropriate due to Mawile's gaping set of jaws now serving as a head.

Although a possible type combination for Mawnium would be Grass and Fairy, this can be debated due to its set of jaws and its body's sickly green color. Regardless, there is no denying that a Trainer would be in for the shock of their life if they ran into a Mawnium in the wild.

8 Pauk (Muk + Paras)

Image of a fusion between a Paras and a Muk from Pokemon

While it is easy to say that Pauk takes after Muk, it is also plain to see that it takes after Paras as well. Rather than have a single arm like Muk, Pauk instead has two sharp claws that obviously stem from Paras. Also, Paras' color scheme completely overtakes that of Muk.

A possible type combination for Pauk would be Poison and Bug. However, the Bug-typing may not be as appropriate due to Pauk's amorphous body shape; the only bug aspect that is present on Pauk is its Paras-like face.

7 Ratitross (Eelektross + Raticate)

Image of Ratitross, a cross between Raticate and Eelektross

Much like Mawnium, players would most likely be in for the shock of their lives if they encountered Ratitross in the wild. However, considering how Eelektross and Raticate reside in completely different environments, this begs the question: where in the wild would someone encounter this Pokemon?

Design-wise, Raticate's face and tail prove to be quite the surprising fit for Eelektross' eel-like body. On the other hand, this fusion makes it very difficult to be labeled as an Electric-type, even with the many unconventional Electric-type Pokemon the series has officially released.

6 Eelekix (Onix + Eelektross)

Image of Eelekix, a cross between Eelektross and Onix from Pokemon

Much like Ratitross, Eelekix is another Pokemon fusion that begs the question of where someone would encounter this hypothetical Pokemon. In this case, the two fusees, Onix and Eelektross, live in caves and the ocean respectively, so to find Eelekix in either of those environments would be very ill-fitting.

However, unlike Ratitross, Eelekix's design is such that it retains Eelektross' sucker mouth and Onix's stony composition. As a result, the dual-typing of Rock and Electric would be the most appropriate for it, a typing that has not seen any use in the official series.

5 Aegidelure (Aegislash + Chandelure)

Image of a Aegidelure, a cross between Aegislash and Chandelure from Pokemon

Keeping with the Ghost theme of its two fusees, Aegislash and Chandelure, Aegidelure can be seen as a perfect representation of a ghost statue. Moreover, the purple emblem just below the flame can be made out to be a sort of evil eye, which makes the Ghost-type especially fitting for Aegidelure.

Although it perfectly fits into the Ghost-type, to say that Aegidelure also deserves the Steel-type would also be appropriate. This is in large part due to the metallic structure that is clearly derived from Aegislash. Given the hypnotic and possessive nature of its fusees, it's best to beware of an Aegidelure that is in the vicinity.

4 Flyveon (Flygon + Sylveon)

Image of Flyveon, a cross between Flygon and Sylveon from Pokemon

While Flyveon may be a simplistic name for an Eeveelution, there is no denying that Flyveon was made for the skies. Although the dual-typing of Dragon and Fairy-type can be applied to Flyveon, a strong argument can be made for this Eeveelution receiving the Flying-type due to it possessing Flygon's wings.

While most other fusions typically resemble both of their fusees to some extent, this does not appear to be the case with Flyveon. Outside of having Sylveon's ribbons and four-legged form, this fusion clearly resembles Flygon more than Sylveon.

3 Ludiape (Ludicolo + Primeape)

Image of Ludiape, a cross between Ludicolo and Primeape from Pokemon

Much like how Flyveon was made for the skies, Ludiape was made to fight. With Primeape's form being dominant within this fusion, there is no denying that Ludiape would have a similarly high Attack stat. Naturally, the Fighting-type would suit Ludiape rather well.

While this fusion is well suited for combat, there is a question to be asked about whether this fusion would want to engage in it at all. After all, Ludicolo is generally cheerful while Primeape is always angry; even though Ludiape resembles Primeape, this is not to say it is as angry as Primeape.

2 Milopeon (Milotic + Espeon)

Image of Milopeon, a cross between Milotic and Espeon from Pokemon

A fusion between Milotic and Espeon, Milopeon is easily one of the more beautiful Pokemon fusions out there. With fins in place of feet and its majestic antennae, Milopeon has the potential to be a pseudo-legendary Pokemon due to its very captivating design.

Milopeon's design also earns it the very appropriate Water and Psychic typing, although its psychic power would be channeled through its antennae due to Espeon's gem being absent. But its most notable feature, however, would be its ability to alter the weather to soothe those around it, a combination of its fusees' natural abilities.

1 Mr. Gar (Mr. Mime + Gengar)

Image of Mr. Gar, a cross between Mr. Mime and Gengar from Pokemon

It was inevitable that the two creepiest Pokemon were to be fused together, and the result is as terrifying as one might expect. While Mr. Mime may have had good intentions, now that Gengar has been added to the mix, any and all ambiguity has gone out the window.

While Gengar may be found within caves and cities at night, Mr. Gar, donning the Ghost and Psychic types, can now be found in the wild due to Mr. Mime's prominence in the wild, though it will most likely still be found at night. But with its newfound mischievous streak, it is most likely Mr. Gar will find whoever is looking for it first.
