Comedy may be subjective, which is why 2012 was a pretty decent year for that genre. 2012 saw plenty of great comedy movies, ranging from different age groups and styles of hilarity. The best comedy movies that turned 10 in 2022 are entirely dependent on the standards of the audience member, as everyone enjoys a different style of jokes and characters.

It’s almost impossible to not be able to distinguish Wes Anderson’s style. Visually, the films are a palette cleanser. The Madagascar franchise has been around the world, and the characters have seen more than a fair share outside of a zoo. Madagascar won fans over with its fun animal characters and talented voice cast, and the Penguins of Madagascar even ended up getting their spin-off for a very good reason. The plot for Madagascar 3 involves the beloved characters attempting to get back home, all the while they are being hunted by Animal Control. 6 Men In Black 3

There isn’t a premise as bizarre and continuous as the Men in Black franchise. Hunting aliens or keeping them protected under a government scheme feels like a funny satire. Until time travel is added to the mix. Will Smith lets his talents shine as Agent J, whilst Tommy Lee Jones is traded in for a younger version of Agent K, played wonderfully and respectfully by Josh Brolin.

In Men in Black 3, Agent J must hunt through time to find Boris, a highly dangerous alien criminal who has made his way back in time to kill a young Agent K, the very man that put him in prison in the first place. The film follows the relationship between an experienced Agent J, and a stern and unfamiliar Agent K.

Back in the 2010s, Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis were a potential match made in heaven. The two actors featured prominently in their comedy movies and finally came head-to-head to fight for the crown of laughter in 2012’s The Campaign. This American political satire comedy hits the mark in more than one way.

As political rivals, Cam Brady and Marty Huggins are in a direct race, running for the same seat. The two will stop at nothing to outdo each other and make the other look bad in front of potential voters. Their campaign is a hilarious bout of competitiveness and slander.

Few comedies have been able to withstand the test of time like 21 Jump Street. This action/comedy seems to always appear in memes across the internet, thanks in part to the wonderful duo of Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. It seems that everyone in the film is having a blast, and it’s infectious from the cast and crew to the audience.

To bust a drug ring, and put an end to the extremely dangerous synthetic drug problem appearing in schools, Schmidt and Jenko must become undercover agents, and fit into a high school. The two soon return to their old ways of the classic nerd and jock tropes, whilst remaining loyal friends, with lots of laughs bound to this duo.

1 Ted

Seth MacFarlane from Family Guy fame leaped out of the 2D animated space and into live-action, without leaving behind his signature humor and Boston voices. Ted is a barrel of laughs, with memorable characters from Seth MacFarlane’s career, and a CGI bear that’ll have fans hollering.
