Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's developers likely took weapon selection into account when designing the game's maps. The weapons are complemented by dilapidated multiplayer maps that serve as the setting for intense player versus player combat. There's an existential feeling of dread and abandonment surrounding these maps.

Call of Duty: Warzone has drastically shifted the way we think about Call of Duty. However, comparing Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is like comparing apples to oranges. You'll find that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered maps are suitable for short, medium, long-range firing, or combinations. Here's ranking the ten best maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

10 Winter Crash

Amid a starry night, Winter Crash is a Christmas themed version of the cult classic map. Winter Crash is characterized as being similar to Crash with details like a Christmas tree, Christmas lights, and other Christmas decorations.

The festiveness of this map makes it a big attraction for the game. If only this map were available 365 days of the year. Winter Crash appears in a playlist during the December and January months of the year.

9 Bloc

One of the lesser-known Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered maps is memorable for players who have experienced it. Bloc is an exceptional long-distance action map. A sniper is highly recommended.

While shooting enemies from across the courtyard, visibility is obstructed from building to building. However, you can spot enemies if you have patience and a steady hand. This map didn't launch with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered but was soon added on December 13th, 2016. You'll either love or hate Bloc because it's truly unique.

8 Pipeline

This map was made more gloomy when it was remade for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. The lighting is darker, but the remaster is still an improvement nonetheless. There is also an added level of realism since the remaster incorporates shadows and lighting effects not seen in the original.

The map is set on an abandoned rail yard. Because of Pipeline's multi-level medium-distance action, it stands out as one of the better Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered maps. It's small at first glance, yet Pipeline is considered a large map.

7 Bog

The Bog map also appears in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered campaign mission of the same name. It is possibly the darkest level in the game, aside from Wet Work. Bog is a middle-eastern map that is filled with heaps of garbage, one bus, and tanks not in working order.

This is a map that involves stealth tactics. A sniper rifle or medium range assault rifle is effective on this map.

6 Wet Work

Wet Work is more symmetrical than most of the other Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered maps. This is an exceptional close-quarter map with the potential for medium-ranged shots. Wet Work is, as its name implies, a drenched map due to being caught in the middle of a storm.

This cargo ship is covered in shipping containers making it an ideal Call of Duty map. There are stealth elements involved in playing Wet Work. This darkness can work to your advantage, but can also bite you in the back.

5 Overgrown

This is a medium-range map with some close quarters. Given the growth of vegetation found in this area, it is advantageous to use medium-range weapons while in the prone position. Marksmen might prefer to use a sniper rifle on Overgrown.

Overgrown is one of our favorite maps because of its unique hiding places. The photo-realism of this multiplayer map in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is something to marvel at.

4 Crossfire

The dilapidated buildings of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered give the multiplayer mode flair. Crossfire's buildings are in a state of disrepair for unknown reasons. Airstrikes may have caused damage to the site or years of neglect.

We love Crossfire because it is an exceptional local multiplayer map. It's not too huge for a 4-player match, but it might be too small for Ground War. Crossfire is also fun in online multiplayer, yet you can lose yourself endlessly playing this instant classic in local multiplayer.

3 Shipment

The smallest map in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is one of our all-time favorites. You wouldn't want to play Ground War or Search and Destroy on this map, but it is a superb free-for-fall map.

It would've placed higher on this list if it weren't for its limited game mode selections. Chances are you'll die within a minute given there are few hiding spots and most players are wielding LMGs, sub-machine guns, or shotguns.

2 Vacant

Vacant is set inside and outside of an office building, which has been left in ruins. You'll find cubicles and pieces of office equipment around the map.

This map is well-known for its close-quarter action, and there is a level of strategy involved with playing it. Vacant's in-game map description states, "Deserted Russian office. Intense interior fighting." It's not surprising that it reappeared in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Pack DLC.

1 Crash

This map is densely packed with debris that has fallen off of buildings and vehicles. It has many blind spots when you are using weapons like the M16 assault rifle, which is ideal for Crash.

Noob tubing is abundant on the Crash map. You'll grow frustrated at times because of the map's various exploits, like shooting through walls with the FMJ perk. Regardless, many agree it's the best map on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered map because any weapon has potential.
