There aren't many entertainment mediums that encompass the massive wealth of genres and inspirations that anime has access to, making it one of the most dynamic and entertaining mediums around.

Romance is something that anime absolutely succeeds in, with some relationships being particularly adorable for a whole host of reasons. Great characters, sizzling chemistry, and a long build-up are some of the many key parts of integrating an interesting relationship, and the following anime couples do end up being quite notable for being absolutely memorable and one of the best parts of their respective shows.

8 Naruto Uzumaki & Hinata Hyuga (Naruto)

Naruto and Hinata's marriage

Naruto and Hinata's romance was a long time in the making. To watch these two ninjas finally admit their love to each other and get married is one of the most satisfying moments in Naruto and a fitting conclusion for a character who deserved a happy ending, more so than anyone else on the show.

It helps that Hinata is a pretty compelling character in her own right who shines in many moments throughout the series, with her stand-off against Pain being a great example of the same. She's the perfect person to pair up with Naruto, especially since she had such a crush on this hard-working ninja for the longest time.

7 Yusuke Urameshi & Keiko Yukimura (Yu Yu Hakusho)

Yusuke and Keiko in Yu Yu Hakusho

Yu Yu Hakusho is one of the most legendary anime of all time, featuring a simple yet intriguing premise that sets up some brilliant arcs and iconic shonen moments. The story takes a look at the life of Yusuke Urameshi and how he's brought back as a Spirit Detective after his noble sacrifice.

The dynamic he shares with his girlfriend Keiko is also pretty engaging, with both characters getting up to rather silly yet adorable hijinks over the course of the series. Of course, the sheer concern they have for each other is also very much evident and makes their characters all the more engaging.

6 Taiju Oki & Yuzuriha Ogawa (Dr. Stone)

Taiju and Yuzuriha in Dr Stone

Dr. Stone is a unique anime that takes a fresh look at established shonen tropes. The idea of science being used as a weapon is already exciting in and of itself, but it's the manner in which Dr. Stone weaves its events around this intriguing premise that makes it such a great show.

While the romance between Taiju and Yuzuriha doesn't take center stage, it's still a fun dynamic to explore in the show. Both characters are pretty over-the-top in their antics, with their passionate love for each other being a comedic highlight throughout the series' run.

5 Ichigo Kurosaki & Orihime Inoue (Bleach)

Ichigo and Inoue in Bleach

The romance between Ichigo and Orihime was written in the stars from the get-go. These people had a crush on each other since high school and never declared their true feelings for each other... not that this was necessary since it was clear to both of them just how important their relationship was.

They might have their fair share of goofy moments, but this connection has been used as a way to exploit the weaknesses of both characters as well. Thankfully, the one time this liability became too strong was during the Arrancar Arc, where Ichigo emerged victorious in his quest to save Inoue.

4 Edward Elric & Winry Rockbell (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is one of the greatest anime of all time, with everything from its amazing story to its wide cast of interesting characters being massive contributing factors to its enduring excellence. Edward Elric is easily the highlight of the series, although Alphonse also deserves due credit.

His romance with Winry Rockbell is pretty subtle but makes a ton of sense. It's a great cap-off to an emotionally engaging story that had some massive twists and turns all the way to the very end.

3 Kirito & Asuna (Sword Art Online)

Kirito and Asuna from Sword Art Online

Sword Art Online isn't exactly the most beloved show around. It has accrued its fair share of haters who call the anime nothing more than a cheap way to cash in on the mainstream appeal of the isekai genre — something that it succeeded in!

However, the parts of the show where it succeeds in doing what it wants should be praised. A great example of this is the manner in which Asuka and Kirito's relationship is given time to blossom in the first half of the show. It's a shame that Asuna was relegated to the role of a damsel in distress later on.

2 Koichi Hirose & Yukako Yamagishi (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)

Koichi and Yukaku in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is the quintessential anime series that fans of the genre should check out, just to see the roots of the industry and one of the greatest mangaka of all time having their work respected. The series is quite bizarre indeed, but its intriguing narratives and infectious characters end up being highlight engaging.

Even the supporting cast in each arc is quite memorable, with Koichi being a great example of the same. His weird yet welcome romance with Yukako is a bit of a shock, but everything becomes fine once Yukako shows just how deep her love for Koichi really is.

1 Shinichi Izumi & Satomi Murano (Parasyte: The Maxim)

Parasyte: The Maxim is one of the greatest seinen anime series of all time that more fans need to check out. The series focuses on the life of Shinichi Izumi and how it changes drastically after his arm is taken over by an otherworldly parasite, later named Migi.

While the bond that Shinichi and Migi share is pretty great, it's his relationship with his girlfriend Satomi that is also quite intriguing. She's a great character who's always supportive of Shinichi and helps him get through some of the tougher moments in the series.
