The game follows as the main character joins a literature club at school as a way to get out and meet new people. 8 Worth It: Fortnite Battle Royale

It's hard to talk about free games these days without mentioning Fortnite. There are multiple game modes within this game, but when people mention the name Fortnite, most people mean the free-to-play battle royale mode.

In this game, players are put into a game with 99 other people and have to build, scavenge, and take out other players. The map gets smaller and smaller, forcing players to get close together and face each other instead of trying to hide from one another. This game is everywhere these days - and for good reason. It's a fun example of a game that's completely free to download and play.

7 Not: All Is Dust

There are a lot of really interesting games that have been set in the past. Being taken back in time through the lens of a game can be a lot of fun. All Is Dust is a game is available on the PC and can even be played on the Oculus Rift, making the experience of playing this terrifying game really immersive.

Unfortunately, being immersive and having the unique setting of a farm in Oklahoma in the 1930s is about all this free game has going for it. Idle Kingdom Builder is a game that definitely lives up to its name. It's free on the PC and when it says "idle" in the title, it really means it. This game is free to download, but in order to really accomplish anything without tons of sitting around and waiting, the player will have to pay to purchase upgrades and special bonuses.

All in all, this free PC game is one that feels more like a time-killing mobile game than a PC game. In this game, the player gets to build up their own kingdom from the ground up and rule over it. While this game is entertaining for a while, the fact that there's nothing to do other than explore the rooms in the house and be met with spooky jump scare after jump scare means that it can get old pretty quickly. A lot of the rooms you go through are identical to rooms that you've already explored which takes away some of the fun and intrigue.
