As we prepare for the launch of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, it's important to have a list of handy add-ons at your side.

Despite Blizzard revamping the UI customization with Dragonflight, there will still be add-ons that make your experience in the Dragon Isles that much better. We already discussed the best Wrath of the Lich King add-ons for Classic WoW. Today, we'll do the same for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. These add-ons will do more than what the UI improvements are capable of. They'll be able to provide the playing the following:

  • More control over how your user interface looks.
  • Displaying vital information that's paramount to success.
  • Optimizing the questing and leveling experience.
  • Making your Auction House experience more efficient.
  • Fixing any personal issues that others might deem trivial or minute.

If you need anything, there's an add-on available to solve all your problems. Here are some of the best add-ons you can use as Dragonflight approaches.

1. Weak Auras

weakuras

This is the most important World of Warcraft add-on period.

Weak Auras can provide players with a wealth of information and knowledge. If you're wanting call-outs for boss mechanics? There's a Weak Aura for that. Wanting to make sure that you have on the correct gear? There's a Weak Aura for that. Wishing you could easily track debuff timers? You guessed it; there's a Weak Aura for that.

No other Dragonflight add-on comes close to the power of Weak Auras. Whether you're importing UI interfaces for your class and spec, setting up boss notifications, or just making sure you're not an idiot and ensuring you're properly buffed, Weak Auras is there for you.

2. Shadowed Unit Frames

shadowed unit frames

My UI add-on of choice, Shadowed Unit Frames, delivers a clean and informative look for player information. Whether it's your own player bar, your target, or the rest of the party, Shadowed Unit Frames will get the job done.

Despite the upcoming UI changes in Dragonflight, there are still players like me looking for some more bang for their buck. Shadowed Unit Frames delivers that. It offers an impressive amount of customization to tinker and help design the UI of your dreams.

3. Details

wow dragonflight details addon

It may not offer the same depth as a full Warcraft Log, but Details still provides vital in-game information. Between damage meters, threat meters, healing output, interrupt counts, and more, Details offers a treasure trove of data in its small package.

Be honest; sometimes you just want to see if you're topping the damage meters. Don't worry, it still does that.

4. Angry Keystones

angry keystone

If you're running Mythic keys, this is the add-on for you.

Angry Keystones provides all the essential data to track your current Mythic Plus run. From chest timers, death trackers, to progress bars, everything you need is available on your screen. There's no more guessing about how close you are to being successful. No more estimating how many more enemies you need to pull. Angry Keystones sets up your Mythic keys for success.

It's a night and day difference between doing your keys with and without Angry Keystones. I highly recommend installing it as one of the best Dragonflight add-ons available.

5. Leatrix Plus

leatrix plus automation

The best World of Warcraft for anything and everything quality of life improvements, Leatrix Plus does far more than you realize.

From quest automation and auto-repairs to blocking annoying social requests, there's a lot to love with Leatrix Plus. To be perfectly honest, if you're looking to tweak your UI, update your in-game preferences, or make your World of Warcraft experience easier, there's a good chance that Leatrix Plus has the answer.

6. Simulationcraft

simc
This is what you will copy into the Raidbots Quick Sim website.

There's a common phrase in World of Warcraft. When someone asks whether or not an item is an upgrade, the answer is always, "sim it!"

The Simulationcraft add-on works alongside Raidbots to analyze your gear and determine if it's an upgrade or not. There's not much else going on here. Simply type in "simc," copy the code that's brought up, paste it into the Raidbot Simulation, and run it. You'll then figure out whether that shiny new epic that just dropped is actually worth it or not.

With the nature of modern World of Warcraft and Dragonflight, there isn't the same definitive best in slot list as there is in Classic. That's where Simulationcraft comes in handy. It removes the difficult guesswork when it comes to figuring out upgrades.

7. Threat Plates / Plater

threat plates

I'm double dipping here when it comes to important World of Warcraft: Dragonflight add-ons. Threat Plates and Plater do the same thing: optimize the bar that rests above a character.

It's not just about finding out what their health is. These World of Warcraft add-ons display vital information. Debuff timers and indicators are vital to have an idea of which character is inflicted with particular spells.

I was someone who wasn't sold on these add-ons before using them. They made me a believer; it's a night and day difference with them and the information they provide is so vital to your performance in World of Warcraft.

8. Deadly Boss Mods

wow wotlk classic dbm

I mentioned earlier how Weak Auras can provide vital information for boss encounters. While it's for sure helpful, it doesn't quite compare to Deadly Boss Mods.

The default boss encounter mod for virtually all of World of Warcraft, DBM offers everything you need for timers for boss abilities and announcements. You'll always be prepared for important mechanics thanks to these timers, allowing players to always be prepared to deal with boss abilities.

One of the most underrated parts about DBM is how it helps players communicate in-game. Whenever you're targeted with specific abilities, your character will shout if they're targeted with something important, if players need to stack on them or run away.

9. TradeSkillMaster

retail tsm

If you care even just a little about making gold, TradeSkillMaster is the World of Warcraft add-on for you.

It's true that the game's default auction house has been vastly improved, but TSM still offers a lot of power to increase your gold-making efforts. From setting up specific searches for crafting professions, utilizing TSM's in-depth features to help buy items at their lowest prices and sell them for profits, as well as a clean and robust profession UI, TradeSkillMaster is something I still refuse to leave home without.

10. All The Things

all the things addon

There's a lot to see and do in World of Warcraft. It's not just about raiding, PVP, or Mythic Plus content. There are achievements, quests, pet battles, mounts, collectibles, and more.

All The Things is the perfect Dragonflight add-on for any World of Warcraft completionist. There's a lot to see, do, track, and collect throughout the nearly two-decade history of World of Warcraft. All The Things helps make that process far easier and more accessible.
