After thanking fans and readers of Berserk for their continued support and love following the passing of author Kentaro Miura, the announcement revealed the plans to continue the Berserk project, which will be continued from June 24, with six chapters to finalize the Elf Island Chapter before moving on to a new arc. Miura's experimentation with new characters, storylines, and devices for Berserk was shared with his best friend and consultant, Kouji Mori, and assistants throughout his career. The series has been serialized since 1990.

Mori will be supervising the project, which Miura's team, Studio Gaga, seeks to continue with the basic objective of attempting to achieve what Miura had wanted for the series. Miura's vision is the main priority for the continuation; which, after the conclusion of the Elf Island/Fantasia Arc, will be credited as "Original Work by Kentaro Miura, manga by Studio Gaga, supervised by Kouji Mori". The numbering of the volumes released from here on out will continue from the series.

The announcement highlights that it is not possible for Miura's assistants and confidants to perfectly create a manuscript that will perfectly capture his vision, but assures fans that every decision made by the team will be on the basis of it having been discussed with Miura before his passing. Mori recounts working on a manuscript with Miura over 30 years ago, a time in which Miura set out his vision for the story's entirety, down to the last chapter.

Since then, Mori claims that the series has gone exactly as Miura had planned, and beyond that, he has full knowledge of what Miura had envisioned for the story to the very end. With the staff at Studio Gaga's desire to complete the series and Mori's knowledge, it was deemed possible to see Berserk to the very end.
