Fans have been looking forward to the hit indie game sequel Bendy and the Dark Revival for a long time now, hoping to learn the answers behind some of the series' mysteries.

Bendy And The Ink Machine's Surprising Ending

Bendy Ink Demon

Bendy and the Ink Machine begins with Henry Stein, the playable character of the game, walking into Joey Drew Studios, where he used to work. However, he quickly learns that the cartoon characters he helped create have been brought to life, many of which have the intention of killing him. Throughout the game, Henry explores the studio and tries to survive, until finally facing his greatest threat, the Ink Demon, who was based on the first character he drew, Bendy.

Upon defeating the Ink Demon, Henry seemingly teleports to Joey Drew's house, where his former partner tells him to go to the studio. At first, many players believed this to be a flashback, before Henry walks into the next room of Joey's house, the first area of the studio he was in, and says the first line from the beginning of the game, "Alright, Joey. I'm here. Let's see if we can find what you wanted me to see." This ending shocked many players as they had no idea that the events of Bendy and the Ink Machine took place in a time loop.

The Consequences Of The Time Loop

Learning that the ending of the game was also the beginning due to the time loop meant that things weren't as they seemed the first time fans played Bendy and the Ink Machine. Henry has been in the studio much longer than previously believed, simply losing his memories each time he meets Joey again after defeating the Ink Demon.

All the events in the game being in a time loop also means that the characters that die, such as Buddy Boris and Twisted Alice, aren't actually dead. Instead, they return to the beginning of the time loop and eventually encounter Henry once again.

What The Significance Of The Time Loop Will Likely Be In Bendy And The Dark Revival

Audrey BATDR

Since Bendy and the Dark Revival was announced, fans knew that the goal of the horror game would likely be to break the time loop and save everyone inside of it. Knowing this, it seems that there were many characters inside the time loop that Henry hadn't encountered. Rather than playing as him this time around, a new character named Audrey is Bendy and the Dark Revival's protagonist.

In the trailer for the upcoming sequel, Audrey is seen interacting with Allison Angel, a character that was trapped in the time loop in Bendy and the Ink Machine. Her evil counterpart, Twisted Alice, also made a quick appearance in Bendy and the Dark Revival's trailer. Because of this, a lot of fans theorize that Audrey will find a way to break the cycle from within the time loop, saving all the characters, both friend and foe alike, that were in the original game.

Bendy and the Dark Revival will release on PC on November 15, with PlayStation and Xbox ports coming later.
