Euro Truck Simulator 2 is the second addition to the Euro Truck Simulator series. Players take control of their own driver, taking on dangerous jobs and using their truck to deliver all sorts of loads to people, all while running their own business.

Of course, people who are new to the whole Euro Truck Simulator series would not really understand the intricacies of the game play, and may end up getting stuck along the way of playing the game. There are some beginner tips for everybody who is new to the game to know before they dive into Euro Truck Simulator 2.

7 Follow The Rules Of Traffic

ETS 2 - Highway to destination

Just because a player is playing a driving simulator game does not mean that they have the clear to drive like a madman and break the rules. Euro Truck Simulator is not like Grand Theft Auto; the goal of the game here is to deliver all sorts of packages, not crash the car.

A player should remember to drive in a way that follows the rules of traffic. Running a red light, for instance, will automatically cause a player to gain a crediting; this happens even if there is not a police car nearby anywhere.

6 Be Careful With Skill Point Assignment

ETS 2 - Large Building in view

The more a player drives, the more skill points they will gain. These skill points, of course, can be put into expanding the player's arsenal of driving skills and make things much easier for them.

A player should remember to choose what they spend their skill points on wisely. There are all sorts of skills that a player can upgrade, but only a few of them are actually worth it in the end - using skill points to upgrade these skills will cause a player to waste points that could be put towards actually useful skills.

5 Ecodriving Is A Useless Skill

ETS 2 - Truck driving in Field

While there are some useless skills to learn in Euro Truck Simulator 2, many players have figured out that Ecodriving is probably one of the most useless ones. Essentially, Ecodriving will ensure that the player uses less fuel while driving; it starts at a 5% reduction and gains 5% with each rank up.

However, the gas prices are actually pretty low, and a player can easily pay for the gas that they use with the reward money that they get from deliveries. Ecodriving is not the best skill for players to upgrade, because of all of this.

4 Take Time To Learn The Menu

ETS 2 - Field of trees

When a player first boots up the game, they will be greeted by all sorts of button prompts and icons for them to get used to. If nothing else, it would be a very good idea for ap layer to take some time to figure out the menu layout, and which buttons mean what.

The menu has pretty much everything that a player needs, as long as they take a bit of time and figure out which buttons are in which area. It won't take too long for a player to get the feel of the menu.

3 Do Not Go Through With The Very First Loan

ETS 2 - Buildings lights

As a player starts up a new game for the first time, they will be able to receive an offer from the in game bank. This bank is, essentially, a loan that they will have to pay off over time; though tempting, a player should not give in.

It may seem like it is a good idea to get this loan so ap layer can buy their first truck of their own right away. However, a player will still have to pay off all of their debt from the bank, and it would just be easier for them to take on jobs that are already there.

2 The Beginning Of The Game Can Be Difficult At Times

ETS 2 - Signs in different languages

The learning curve for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is not exactly... the best, so to speak. A player who starts a game off will realize that things are pretty difficult at first.

The player does not have a lot of money, should not really take the bank's loan, and pretty much have to take every job they get in order to make ends meet. As long as a player can get through those first few rocky moments, it will get much easier for them.

1 Do Not Forget Dangerous Load Trips

ETS 2 - driving under bridge

There are times when a player will have to drive a particularly dangerous load across the game's map. It may not seem like a good idea (due to how dangerous or volatile the load is), but it can be so worth it in the end.

If a player can safely deliver these loads to their destination, they will figure out that the payment they get is so much more than the rewards of a regular delivery. It would definitely be worth it for a player to drive for dangerous loads.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 is available on Microsoft, Linux, and macOS.
