The cosplayer known as Cassandra Cosplays created a convincing female version of the lead character from Tim Burton’s wacky and beloved classic movie Beetlejuice. It is clear the cosplayer took special care in recreating this look, and her makeup is done flawlessly.

Cosplayers around the world are rejoicing as Cons are finally opening back up after a long and anticipated wait due to the pandemic. Cassandra Cosplays decided to use her following on Instagram to show how even if masks are required at Con events, the look can still be impressive. She also said how masks can be an opportunity for fans to get creative and make a completely unique look—all without messing up their makeup or aesthetic.

In her post on Instagram, the cosplayer also created another iconic look as Esmerelda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, again with her own handmade mask. She also dressed up and posed as Catwoman with a sleek, black leather mask that didn’t compromise the look and instead helped create a mysterious and intriguing version of the Batman character. And lastly, Cassandra Cosplays showed a final picture in her post as Poison Ivy with a forest green mask. This particular cosplayer deserves special recognition, especially right now, for helping to encourage fans to stay safe so they don’t get cons taken away again.

Right now, the best thing for cosplayers to do is to help stop the potential spread of the virus, but that doesn’t mean they still can’t have fun with their looks. Cassandra Cosplays hopes to encourage people to incorporate their masks into their character designs so they will be more likely to wear them, even when taking photos. And her Beetlejuice impersonation is particularly impressive, with Beetlejuice’s iconic black and white vertical stripes. By far, the best part of Cassandra Cosplays’ look is her eye makeup, which the mask actually helps to accentuate. Beetlejuice cosplays have been done before, but the mask truly does help to create a unique look that other fans can use to their advantage to help stand out from the crowd—all while staying safe and protecting themselves and others. Burton’s Beetlejuice came out in 1988, and his signature aesthetic is still catching people’s eye and giving them inspiration for their own cosplays.

Although the character from the movie is male (played by Michael Keaton) and has sort of a creepy and dirty look, Cassandra Cosplays opted to go for a more feminine version of the iconic character in her stunning transformation. Her outfit is strong and powerful, and she manages to pull off the vertical black and white striped suit look with purple and lime green accents. The pandemic version of Beetlejuice was complete, equipped with black gloves for extra protection.

Cons are a great place for fans to show their love and support for their favorite characters, but for the time being, it’s best to stay safe and wear a mask—a small effort—so they can continue to go to these events without any more hiccups or lockdowns.

Beetlejuice is now available to stream on Netflix.
