After the release of their second feature-length film, one of television’s dumbest duets is back. Creator Mike Judge presented the new look for Beavis and Butt-Head before they head over to Paramount Plus, and it looks like the pair have not a lost a step.

For a quick recap, thanks to some time travel shenanigans, Beavis and Butt-Head managed to make the jump from the '90s to 2022 in their recent movie, which means that these two are exactly the same clueless 15-year-olds they have always been, as stated by Judge during a San Diego Comic-Con panel. This time around, Beavis and Butt-Head will return for at least two seasons on Paramount Plus and MTV, the latter being the network on which the series made its name, which in itself is owned by the larger Paramount Global conglomerate.

The new preview was released ahead of the show’s premiere in August. It focuses on Beavis (no Cornholio though) having a nice chat with a sentient dumpster fire in what is definitely a nice callback to the character’s pyromaniac tendencies he remembers so fondly. Naturally, with this being Beavis and Butt-Head, things don’t go as expected, as Beavis' friend doesn’t turn out to be exactly what he expected and has him running some very uncool errands for practically the entirety of this near 9-minute teaser.

One thing that clearly stands out from the clip is the fact that Beavis and Butt-Head's TV watching sessions have seen their usual music videos swapped for TikTok content. Judge clarified that while the show will feature music videos, it will also make room for them interacting with social media too. During the panel, Judge also mentioned there’s a new series in the works set in the Daria universe, in addition to saying there’s “a very good chance” that King of the Hill could make a comeback.

Suffice to say, Judge's legacy extends far beyond the adventures of these two dimwitted teenagers, as he is also known for creating and directing cult classics such as Office Space and Idiocracy, as well as his work as one of the masterminds behind HBO's Silicon Valley. Beavis and Butt-Head's comeback has been defined by Judge as a magical coincidence of him entering a fruitful creative period coupled with Paramount Plus' need for new content, and judging from the movie’s reviews, the Beavis and Butt-Head reboot will have many bursting out laughing soon enough.

Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head will premiere on Paramount Plus on August 4, 2022.
