Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1’s final event is here, and this time it’s about going all out in Love and War. With Valentine’s Day just a week away, the new Love and War event allows players to show their love for the game in order to grab some amazing cosmetic rewards. The new event also brings a completely new and special Limited Time Mode, Search and Destroy. Some might already be familiar with the Search and Destroy mode since it’s one of the most popular game modes from the Call of Duty franchise.
In Search and Destroy, two 6-player teams take turn attacking and defending in a match. The first team that wins four rounds is declared winner, with a cap of seven rounds. Attackers have to team up to plant bombs or kill all enemies to win, while defenders have to keep their bombsites safe. The mode is also similar to Counter-Strike, players will earn some gold after finishing a round, getting kills, and completing objectives, which can be used to buy weapons, shields and building material. So those who’ve played Counter-Strike or Call of Duty will definitely have the upper hand over unfamiliar players in Fortnite.
The Love and War event in Fortnite also brings a ton of new challenges that players can complete to earn a bunch of different rewards. There are a total of 12 Love and War challenges available until February 17th. Similar to the Winterfest event, different challenges will release each day. Here’s how to complete each Love and War challenge in Fortnite.
How To Beat All Love and War Challenges
1. Play Search and Destroy Matches
To complete this challenge, players need to play five Search and Destroy matches in the game. This mode is available under the Current Match option in the battle royale lobby.
2. Plant or Defuse Bombs in Search and Destroy Games
When playing Search and Destroy, either plant two bombs or defuse two bombs or just do a mixture of both to complete this challenge. This challenge can be completed in more than one match.
3. Place in The Top 15 in Duos or Squad Matches with a Friend
This challenge requires players to place in the Top 15 teams in five times either a Duos or Squad match. However, it also requires players to have a friend in their party.
4. Purchase Items from Vending Machines in Search and Destroy Games
The vending machines are available in Search and Destroy mode, and players need to buy five items from these vending machines to successfully complete this challenge.
5. Heal Teammates with a Bandage Bazooka
This challenge is quite self-explanatory; all players have to do is heal a total of 100 health to any number of their teammates with a Bandage Bazooka for this mission.
6. Eliminate Opponents in Search and Destroy
Just kill five enemies in Search and Destroy matches to complete this challenge. It does not require players to complete the challenge in one match, so players can finish this challenge in as many Search and Destroy games as they require.
7. Eliminate or Revive Players in a Single Match
This challenge requires players to complete it in a single match; however, it does not require the Search and Destroy mode. So, players can hop into any game mode and kill or revive three people to complete the mission.
8. Earn Gold in Search and Destroy
Killing enemies, winning rounds, and completing objectives grant player gold in Search and Destroy. For this challenge, players need to earn 2,500 gold in the game mode, and it can be completed in just a few matches.
9. Thank The Bus Driver in Different Matches
Players need to thank the bus driver in 7 different matches. The bus driver can only be thanked when players are inside the Battle Bus. Here’s how to do it on different platforms.
Mobile: Tap the emote button in the top-right corner of the screen
Console: Hit down on the D-Pad
PC: “B” is the default key.
10. Purchase a Common item from The Vending Machine
This challenge should be automatically completed when players complete the fourth challenge in the list; however, those who didn’t buy a common item for the fourth challenge will have to complete this challenge individually.
11. Deal Damage to Opponents
Players can complete this challenge in any game mode they want. All they have to do is deal 1,000 damage to their enemies to finish this mission successfully.
12. Gain Health or Shields
Another challenge that can be completed in any game mode, so it’s recommended to do it in the main Battle Royale mode where it’s easy to gain shields and health throughout the entire match. Players need to gain 500 in health or shields to complete this challenge which can be done over any number of matches.
