In a surprising and likely unintended reveal, it seems that Platinum Games is remastering both Bayonetta and Vanquish for release on the Xbox One. Social media tracking bots for the Microsoft Store noted Thursday morning that a new profile for a Vanquish remaster had been published. As fans of the original Vanquish considered the veracity of the listing, another was posted for a Bayonetta remaster. Shortly to follow, a Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle listing went up as well.

The Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle provides some further detail regarding Platinum's remaster of each game. According to the listing, both games have been remastered so as to allow for 4K resolution and 60fps on the Xbox One X, which is an incredible upgrade for the near-10-year-old games. And while it's so much of a big deal, both games are confirmed to have Xbox Live cloud saves and Xbox Live achievements, as well.

Just as important as the reveal itself is also the confirmation of the two remasters' planned release date. According to the leak, both games will launch on February 18, 2020. That's just ahead of what's looking to be a very packed March for new games. This will be the first time that Vanquish and Bayonetta are fully released on Xbox One, outside of backward compatibility. It'll be the first opportunity for a lot of gamers to play two of Platinum Games' best releases.

PlayStation gamers who might be worried that Xbox One is scoring a couple of great exclusively shouldn't fret. While the current leak only implies that the Bayonetta and Vanquish remasters are coming to Xbox One, that's just due to the nature of the leak. Though there is a rumor that Vanquish 2 is an Xbox exclusive, so anything's possible. It's more than likely that the two games will also come to PS4. As for whether the games will also come to the Nintendo Switch, that's less likely.

For now, it's best to consider the reveal of Vanquish and Bayonetta's remasters for Xbox One as a rumor. An official announcement is all but certain to be coming in the next week, but stranger mistakes have happened. After all, rumors about a Vanquish and Bayonetta remaster have been swirling since 2017 after box art for the same two-game bundle was leaked. It seems to have taken two years extra to get the games near-finished, which shows that any plans can be delayed or canceled.

Bayonetta and Vanquish Remastered are rumored to release February 20, 2020 on Xbox One.
