Game developer Dlala Studios, the team behind last year's wildly popular reboot of Battletoadsappears to be working on its next title. While the new game has yet to be officially announced, details on the company's website reveal it to be based on a "much-loved established IP."

The developer's new entry in the 90s beat-em-up franchise was met with mostly positive reviews, with its dynamic gameplay and humor listed as a strength and lack of online co-op its main weakness. The studio responsible for bringing Rare's loveable characters back to life last year has published some job listings on its site, a few of which reveal key details about future endeavors.

According to the 2D VFX and Environment Artist listings, candidates will be working on an "exciting" new project. The job descriptions go on to mention they'll be working on a "much-loved established IP." The rest of the available information is vague, describing only the technical requirements for the multiple open positions.

While details surrounding the established IP title remain scarce, fans have already begun to theorize what it could be. Given Dlala's successful crack at Battletoads, it stands to reason that the studio could be working on a sequel, or perhaps another Rare property. Rare does have a notorious history when it comes to cancelling video game projects, and hasn't shown public interest in directly reviving its 90s properties. However, unlike Rare, Dlala isn't owned by Microsoft, and the studio has worked with companies like Disney, so anything could be on the table. Only time will tell exactly what the "established IP" is.

Battletoads is available now for PC and Xbox One.
