Battlefield 5 is among the many games that were featured at EA play and today's presentation revealed all of the upcoming content heading soon to the first-person shooter. Although Battlefield 5 didn't meet sales expectations at launch, EA is committed to rectifying that by introducing new content including three new maps in the coming months.

The first map is called Al-Sandan, which takes place somewhere in the African desert. Al-Sandan will feature wide areas and plenty of space for players to pilot or drive air and land vehicles to engage in battles. Campaign players will be able to recognize the map given that it is an adaption of the "Under No Flag" mission.

Marita is the second of the new maps coming to Battlefield 5 in July and it is based on the village where the Battle of Greece started. The map is located on top of a mountain ridge and will feature hills and tons of buildings that players may use as a vantage point. Marita is under the control of the Allies, where the Axis troops attempt to break in. In contrast to Al-Sandan's vast open spaces, Marita will feature tight streets for close-quarter combat.

Battlefield 5's third upcoming map is Operation Underground, which is an underground battlefield that has a similar look to Operation Metro from previous Battlefield games. Operation Underground will be coming later in October, in between Battlefield 5's Chapter 4 and 5. Lastly, DICE revealed at EA Play today that Battlefield 5's maximum rank will be increased from 50 to 500, giving players something to look forward to as new maps and modes will be introduced to the game in the coming months.

For the game's upcoming fifth chapter, Battlefield 5 will be returning to the Pacific Theatre and will focus on the US and Japanese troops, which have been mostly left out on the game so far. Aside from the new maps mentioned above, the return to the Pacific theatre will also introduce new locations, one of which will be set in the battle of Iwo Jima.

Battlefield 5 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
