Gamers are only on the first day of E3 and there is already much to be excited about. With Electronic Arts having finished their 2018 press conference, the publisher has given fans a look at all kinds of upcoming titles such as Anthem and FIFA '19. Of course, one of the biggest games discussed at the conference was Battlefield V, unveiling not only a new trailer but also revealing a new battle royale mode.

Since the conference ended a short while ago, graphics technology company Nvidia has released new Battlefield V gameplay footage running on PC. The footage shows players engaged in a match of the game mode Grand Operations, doing battle across the Narvik map. The footage was recorded by Twitch popular streamer and Xbox Ambassador Lanai Gara AKA Ms. Vixen.

The footage above shows the perks of running the Battlefield V on PC, particularly one sporting a Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card. The game appears to be running at 1080p but more importantly running a high frame rate of 60fps. The game makes use of many of the Nvidia features like Game Ready Drivers due to GeForce being the games official platform, resulting in perks like a better frame rate.

As many fans may already know, the game mode shown in the footage, Grand Operations, is a revamped version of the Operations game mode from Battlefield 1. The original 64-player Operations game mode featured elements of other game modes like Conquest Assault and Rush, focusing on territory control and attacking. All of the Operations had their own story, complete with cut-scenes and voice work, taking place across multiple maps.

Grand Operations seeks to expand on the original mode, not focusing on simply attack and defend gameplay. It will instead include several different version and gametypes, with specific objectives that will influence the next round depending on the player's performance.

Based on everything we have seen of Battlefield V today, fans definitely have something to look forward to. Of course, facing stiff competition from the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4  (also set to feature a battle royale mode), and a release slate growing more crowded by the day, EA and DICE are going to need to do something special to keep games engaged and coming back for more.

Battlefield V will release on October 19 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
