According to Amazon and ShopTo.Net in the UK, EA’s ever popular shooter, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is getting an Ultimate Edition. The game sold 2.3 million copies in only two weeks after it’s release. Since then, there have been several downloadable add-ons featuring gear packs and different game modes. If you still haven’t bought your copy, maybe now is your chance.
Starting on August 31st, gamers will be able to pick up an Ultimate Edition of DICE’s shooter. This package will come loaded with an insane amount of content. Here is the list of what you’ll get if you’ve held out this long:
- BFBC2 Limited Edition: The version of the game available at launch containing six upgrades and early access to weapons.
- Battlefield 1943 — The complete multiplayer version of the game, and the highlight of the Ultimate Edition. This is also the first time consumers have been able to buy the game at retail.
- Onslaught Mode — Available as DLC, a 4-player co-op mode using stealth against AI enemies.
- 12 Additional Multiplayer Maps — A VIP code will be provided for twelve additional maps.
The Ultimate Edition is already available for pre-order on Amazon. If you’re still undecided, read our review of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. With all this content amassed into one bundle, the Ultimate Edition is definitely the best bargain for your buck.
Neither EA or DICE has said anything about this but for now, we’ll just assume it’s true. If you haven’t enjoyed Bad Company 2 just yet, you’re missing out on what many consider to be the best FPS of 2010 thus far.
I’m personally going to make the Ultimate Edition a must-have for all my friends for Christmas, including my step family, my ex-boyfriend, and my sister. If you don’t already have it, will you be purchasing it? If not, will you at least tell your friends about it?
