A few days ago DICE announced new DLC content for Battlefield Bad Company 2 for the PlayStation 3. The kits cost $2.00 per class or $5.50 for the entire bundle. Each kit contains new camouflage, two pins, a trophy, and new camouflaged weapons (M16A2 for assault, UMP-45 for engineer, MG3 for medic, and M95 for recon). In total, that is twelve awards and four trophies if you buy the bundle.

The kits may make your characters look pretty, however, over at the EA Forums there is a lot of speculation about their in-game use. Granted, the ugly and noticeable red beret is gone, recon characters don't look like furry animals, and the engineers look like ninja assassins. Still, after using the kits you have to reset your class again and again. In fast paced modes like Rush you'd rather just jump into the game than take a minute to set up your gear. If you're an achievement junkie though, the new pins and challenges are made for you. Plus the extra guns always help for classes you don't normally play.

SPECACT kits for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 have been released in Europe for at least a month. Sadly, if you wanted them for the 360 they were obtained through a Dr. Pepper promotion. No word yet if they will be released for purchase in the future, but we will keep an eye out for you. If so, will you be purchasing the new Bad Company 2 kits?
