Battlefield 6 fans have been waiting patiently for the game’s grand reveal, and while all the signs had been pointing to the first trailer coming in early May, it has still not arrived. According to Battlefield 6 leaker Tom Henderson, though, there might be a good reason behind this.

For those that have seen Battlefield 6’s leaked screenshots, the rocket that features in the second image is likely the most memorable feature for most. Likely featuring as a major part of one of the game’s multiplayer maps, players could be able to shoot down the space vehicle — causing a massive amount of destruction to the area below. According to Henderson, the rocket will serve as a large focus in the game’s reveal trailer, with the leaker believing that this could be the reason for a potential delay.

In a Tweet, Henderson outlines a scenario where players will see the rocket explode after it launches. From there, debris will supposedly fall from the sky and land on some soldiers, showing how destruction can have a larger impact on gameplay. This scenario is not too dissimilar from Battlefield 6’s supposed crash-landing feature, which Henderson previously discussed. According to the leaker, an Osprey will supposedly crash into some soldiers before a pilot disembarks. With these two examples of destruction being similar, it does seem possible that both could appear in the trailer.

However, Henderson also links a video in his Tweet that discusses a real-world news story. Earlier this week, metal debris from a Chinese rocket plummeted down from outer space. The metal could have hit anywhere, ranging from Canada to New Zealand. Thankfully, it landed safely in the sea, though there was a chance it could have hit land. If it had, showcasing Battlefield 6’s destruction via a faulty rocket could have easily been seen as something done in bad taste. Had the real-world rocket actually landed on some innocent people, there would have been even more controversy around the reveal trailer.

While Henderson clarifies that he is not certain if such a delay for Battlefield 6’s reveal trailer happened, he does believe that it was a possibility. Pointing out that real world events have led to other video game-related delays, the argument that the same thing could have happened here is sound. While fans may never know for sure if Henderson’s rocket explanation is correct, it is certainly a decent theory that would explain where the trailer is. With the rocket pieces having landed safely in the sea, perhaps Battlefield 6’s reveal trailer will drop soon.

According to another industry insider named Jeff Grubb, though, Battlefield 6’s reveal window is now set for late May or early June. If true, it seems like gamers will need to continue waiting for some official information on the shooter.

Battlefield 6 is currently in development for unspecified platforms.
