With much of the world in self-quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic, gamers are returning to titles like Rocket League in droves looking for something to occupy their time.

A fan of DICE's Battlefield 5 going by Beta1548 asked the developers on March 30 why they had no double-XP or community events listed in the game's weekly Reddit news update while "everybody is locked down at home." Battlefield Community Manager Jeff Braddock responded to let them know that "the tech isn't there" to create double-XP events in Battlefield 5, but that the team is looking into possible options.

As far as community events go, Braddock said he "totally agrees" they are necessary for players in these trying times, and that the developers had something planned for the end of March that did not work properly and is currently being tested. Apparently they are also discussing the addition of more playlists and login rewards, which would undoubtedly be a boon for the game that has recently added in tank customization.

Because of the public's desire for more things to keep them occupied, the gaming industry has moved to use its large platform to make a difference. For example, Humble Bundle has released a COVID-19 bundle that will donate all its proceeds to charity.

Battlefield 5 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
