Not too long ago, Battlefield 5's forthcoming battle royale mode, Firestorm, received its official release date. We also learned the name of the Firestorm map is Halvoy, which is 10x bigger than Hamada, the biggest map currently available in the standard multiplayer mode. And now we've received our first glimpse at this Halvoy Map.

Other than this overview, not much is known about this map. With its size, vehicles are going to be a must for Firestorm players, as there are 17 different vehicles to choose from, one of which is a tractor with a turret. Combined well with this is Battlefield 5's destructible environments, which may help it stand out in the saturated battle royale genre.

In other battle royale games, it's worth mentioning that the circle can be rather forgiving at first, but that does not seem to be the case with Firestorm's closing blaze. Footage has shown this circle to consume the map as it shrinks, completing razing buildings as it closes in. It's possible that players will be able to survive in Battlefield 5's circle, much like other battle royale titles, but it doesn't seem that way at this point.

Halvoy, then, is likely to be intense with its large size and flaming circle. One notable thing determined from this reveal is the amount of water surrounding Halvoy, and with the amphibious vehicles in the Firestorm mode, it's likely another area to stand out. Of course, other battle royale titles have amphibious vehicles, but the sheer amount of water in Halvoy seems to stand out, though there is likely an out-of-play area the further Battlefield 5 players go.

Another noticeable detail about Halvoy is the island, as it seems like an easy area to defend. The most popular locations on the Firestorm map will likely be revealed in due time, but for now, it's uncertain if Battlefield 5 will have an area as popular as Tilted Towers in Fortnite. For those on the fence about picking up Battlefield V for the Firestorm mode, we also reccomend checking out our review of DICE's latest first-person shooter.
