With talk regarding the next Battlefield game picking up steam, Battlefield 5 has been talked about a bit less than usual as of late. However, one new easter egg should get fans invested in the current title once again, as the complicated journey leads to a special skin.

With a previous Battlefield 5 easter egg granting players telekinesis, the latest easter egg had a lot to live up to. Fortunately for fans, it did just that, as the quest sees players literally shatter the glass ceiling. However, unlike some of the other complicated easter eggs in the Battlefield series that grant players small rewards like dog tags, this latest quest unlocks an exclusive skin.

According to YouTuber JackFrags, one of the first players to unlock the outfit, only eight people in the world had the skin unlocked prior to his video. The Legendary outfit is titled Eidolon, and it sees Battlefield 5 players don a unique desert attire that stands out from many of the other skins in the game. To even unlock the easter egg, players need to type in “-...-“ in the main menu, with the bit of morse code opening a new Combined Arms playlist called “The Challenge.” Players can enter the mode with three other friends, loading into an easter egg-themed version of the Hamada map.

With gnomes scattered everywhere alongside Dinosaur toys, which have a very special relationship with Battlefield due to the endless teases of a Dino mode, the map is quite the sight to behold. Following the objects leads to four bronze plates, with each player required to stand on one of the items. Doing so will allow players to start building staircases, with the goal being to reach an objective marker incredibly high in the sky. The reward is a pair of headphones, which allows players to hear morse code.

The morse code allows players to navigate crumbling platforms after their lengthy staircase build is complete, with players being hit with rockets and plane barrages along the way. When finally reaching the top, players break the map’s skybox, and explosions quickly fill the sky following the shattering glass. Alongside the explosions are actual, flying pterodactyls, with players finally bringing living dinosaurs to the Battlefield universe via the easter egg. With Battlefield 5’s final major update coming back in June, it is nice to see that DICE still included such a complex easter egg with the latest patch.

While very few Battlefield 5 fans knew how to complete the easter egg initially, players around the world should now be able to complete “The Challenge” and unlock the special skin. With the steps now being clear, it should only take a fraction of the 34 long hours JackFrags and his team spent solving it.

Battlefield 5 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
