Battlefield 3, like Call of Duty, is all about the multiplayer, enjoying simulated virtual experience of seeing your friend in the distance... and blowing him or her to pieces. For gamers looking for larger scale battles, Battlefield 3 is the answer. From aircraft carriers to usable tanks and jets, and up to 64 players on the PC, there's a war to be had so suit up.

With the game finally hitting store shelves next week, EA has released another new gameplay trailer, this one focusing just on Battlefield 3 multiplayer.

Battlefield 3 earned itself many awards at gameshows, including one from us for 'Best Shooter' at E3 this summer. For a glimpse of why it won and to see the game's 9 multiplayer maps in action, check out the below trailer.

The BF3 multiplayer showcase also offers gamers a first look into the four additional maps in the Back to Karkand DLC, which are remakes of classic Battlefield franchise locales. These are available for gamers who pre-order the Limited Edition of Battlefield 3, get these maps free.

The high intensity action is most rewarding when playing the right way, and by that we mean playing as a team. Doing so may be the only way to win a match so communicate and play with friends!

For veteran Battlefield fans, the Back to Karkand map pack is more than just remade environments with the Frostbite 2 engine, as revealed by Niklas Fegraeus, Lead Designer on Back to Karkand. It also includes Battlefield 2 weapons, vehicles, and unlocks but we don't yet know what exactly these include.

The four maps included are Strike at Karkand, Wake Island, Gulf of Oman, and Sharqi Peninsula and we expect many gamers to pick them up since 9 maps simply isn't enough.

Battlefield 3 releases October 25, 2011, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
