The beta for Battlefield 2042 beta has been a rocky experience for many of those trying it out. Players found plenty to enjoy, but also plenty to complain about, including a UI that DICE says will be changed before the release of the final product.

Still, there are certainly many new toys for players to get excited about in Battlefield 2042 due to its futuristic setting, but some things about the series remain unchanged. This includes the hilariously unbalanced relationship between footsoldiers and vehicles, as demonstrated perfectly by one Reddit user who took a plane for a literal spin.

Players have a lot to deal with in Battlefield 2042's open beta. There's the usual chaos of massive numbers of players fighting each other of course, plus huge destructible maps, and bugs so prevalent they have been added to Battlefield 2042's beta trailer. But for one player who got ahold of a jet, that fun was as old fashioned as it gets. After destroying an enemy aircraft, another player parachuted down on top of the jet itself and tried to shoot the pilot. A quick half-turn solved the problem fast.

Moments like this are the draw for many Battlefield players, far more so than the regular gameplay. The developers are no doubt aware of this fact at this point, if the game's first trailer showing a car being used to blow up a helicopter is anything to go by. It's almost sad that simple logic turned what could have been an awesome moment into a hilarious one, but then again, it was still pretty funny. While the hackers invading the Battlefield 2042 beta have made it hard for some players to survive long enough to experience things like this, sap0ten is surely glad that they had their "Battlefield moment."

Whether or not the other player attempting the hijacking has seen the video is unknown, as are their feelings about it. At this point it's fairly academic, so long as the match was fun for those involved. It would have no doubt been the perfect time to swear, too, were it not for Battlefield 2042's hated profanity filter.

Hopefull, these moments become the norm for Battlefield 2042, as it means an active, engaged, and creative player community. For that to happen, the game will definitely need some TLC over its lifetime. Bots shooting dead players cannot be the norm, or Battlefield 2042's lifespan will likely be cut as short as the lifespan of the player that was trying to hijack the jet.

Battlefield 2042 releases November 19, 2021, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
