Battlefield 2042's open beta is available across each of the platforms that it will release for in November. The bugs being encountered by Battlefield 2042 fans extend beyond the PS4 and Xbox One, as even gamers on the newest consoles are encountering issues with the open beta. Battlefield 2042 releases next month and several gamers are concerned by the performance of the open beta, regardless of their enjoyment of the gameplay.

Several Battlefield 2042 open beta players have encountered frame rate dips and according to one player, this may be due to the use of RTX. This player also confirmed with a side-by-side comparison that activating RTX doesn't change anything visually. Frame rate dips aren't only being reported by players on PC, however, with several PS5 players confirming the same issue.

Battlefield 4 has become worthy of the Battlefield name, but it launched with several issues from bugs and glitches to hard crashes. Many Battlefield 2042 open beta participants have voiced their concerns about the launch of the next installation and its potential to replicate the same launch experience. A handful of gamers who were able to try both Halo Infinite and Battlefield 2042 recently have given the crown to Halo based on the latter's buggy performance.

According to some rumors that go unconfirmed by EA or DICE, the Battlefield 2042 beta build is from several months ago and has some lingering issues that may have been fixed in the current build of the game that DICE is working on. With day one patches becoming a common feature in new releases these days, it wouldn't be surprising to see a lot of these issues fixed whether it's an early build of the game or not.

It isn't abnormal for open beta's to include bugs, glitches, crashes, etc. but the number of players reporting issues with Battlefield 2042's open beta may alarm long-time fans of the series. It's likely that all of the feedback from open beta players will help DICE and EA optimize Battlefield 2042 ahead of launch.

Battlefield 2042 releases for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on November 19.
