The Battlefield series is home to some of the greatest multiplayer shooter games ever made. Landing in a chaotic warzone and using the most of teamwork to rack up kills, fulfill objectives, and accomplish everything along the same lines is extremely satisfying. While the release of Battlefield 2042 has been extremely mixed, there are still some people who enjoy some of the aspects of this game.RELATED: Battlefield 2042: How To Level Up QuicklyComplaints relating to the latest game in the series might be at an all-time high, but that shouldn't take away from the enjoyment that some people have with playing the game. Keeping this in mind, here are some things that players love about Battlefield 2042, coupled with the major problems that have caused so many players to hate this title with a passion.

10 Love: The Battlefield Portal Maps

Veterans of the Battlefield series absolutely adore the fact that the latest game allows them to play on maps from old games that have been remastered and retouched for the latest title. It's a great way to revisit the history of this series.

Of course, regardless of whether players play in the new or old maps, there's no denying that people will have a great time with this title. The huge maps might feel empty, but players need only go to an area of all-out warfare to experience the magic of Battlefield 2042.

9 Don't Love: The Lack Of A Proper Scoreboard

Battlefield 2042 - Player checking scoreboard

For some reason, DICE has removed the in-game scoreboard from Battlefield 2042 for individual players. This is one of the most controversial changes made to the game, with many players outright hating this change with a passion.

It doesn't help that the scoring system itself has been simplified to a fault. There's no special reward for pulling off great shots anymore, with most rewards merging together into one uninteresting package.

8 Love: The Wingsuit

While the Specialist system in Battlefield 2042 has not received the most positive feedback, the changes it brought to the formula were very much welcomed. Each Specialist has their unique ability, but Sundance's Wingsuit is perhaps the most interesting of the lot.

The fact that players can zoom all over the map with this wingsuit makes it one of the best parts of Battlefield 2042. Skilled players can accomplish a ton of great tricks with this ability, making for a highlight reel that would be outright awesome!

7 Don't Love: Lack Of Weapon And Vehicle Variety

It's a shame that Battlefield 2042 lacks a ton of content since its launch. The weapons present in this game are absolutely barebones and only a handful of vehicles are present in the base game for now.

While content updates will probably add more weapons and vehicles to the game, these additions will still take some time. Until these updates become a reality, players will have to be content with a lack of proper vehicle and weapon variety in the game for a while.

6 Love: The Inclusion Of 128 Players

Battlefield 2042 marked a major change with the inclusion of 128 players in a map as opposed to the usual 64. It's a massive change that will allow players to traverse a massive battlefield with a ton of opponents and teammates alike.

With these 128 players, it goes without saying that the gunfights of Battlefield will become incredibly complicated and enjoyable. Maps will actually feel like properly warzones with players running and gunning at everything and everyone in sight!

5 Don't Love: The Absence Of A Campaign

While Battlefield might be a series that prides itself mainly on its multiplayer, that shouldn't mean that DICE completely removes the option of a campaign altogether. After all, the lore of Battlefield is pretty great and can definitely be augmented by a campaign that focuses on the new game and its setting.

Now, with the lack of a campaign, most people can only rely on the multiplayer mode to get their money's worth. Given how lackluster the game has been so far, it might be better for most people who love a story-focused approach to either wait or avoid this game altogether.

4 Love: The Hovercraft Is A Great Vehicle

While Battlefield 2042 might not have a ton of vehicles, the ones it does have are pretty fun. This is especially true when it comes to the hovercraft, which is an absolute blast to use in the game.

People have already accomplished their fair share of shenanigans with this vehicle. Given how early it is into 2042's run, it's only a given that more and more people would want to unlock the full potential of this entertaining vehicle!

3 Don't Love: The Much-Derided End-Of-Round Voice Lines

Battlefield 2042 Promises 'Years' of Updates, Acknowledges Fan Complaints

In a bid to make Battlefield 2042 more enjoyable, the Specialists in the game have their own unique voice lines that happen at the end of every round. However, the cringeworthy nature of their remarks makes these voice lines some of the most irritating aspects of the game.

It's clear that DICE has included these voice lines to keep this game more in line with the competition. However, Battlefield is a unique series that doesn't need to conform to anything, which is why these voice lines are painful to listen to at times.

2 Love: The Cinematic Flair Of The Warzone

With the huge maps, updated graphics, and increased player count, each match in Battlefield 2042 becomes a thing of chaotic beauty. Watching explosions and bullets all over the battlefield makes for an engaging and hectic experience.

Most people would agree that the visual flair of Battlefield 2042 makes each game feel extremely cinematic. It's a great way to make each round engaging... and the flaws bearable.

1 Don't Love: A UI That Simply Doesn't Cut It

Battlefield 2042 - Player customising M5A3 with attachments

While this might be a minor complaint, the UI of Battlefield 2042 simply has to be pointed out for its flaws. The beta was egregious in this regard, featuring a UI that was downright indecipherable at times.

The final release might've made some improvements, but they're nowhere near enough. Without a cohesive UI, there's just another annoying facet of Battlefield 2042 that fans can complain about to no end.

Battlefield 2042 was released on November 19, 2021, and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
