Battlefield 2042, like any other entry in the series, gives players the opportunity to experience their own “Battlefield moments.” However, while plenty of clips showing such moments have been shared, one Battlefield 2042 player’s video focuses on something a bit different, as it highlights their good fortune fading.

Whether it is recreations of Battlefield’s rendezook or thievery of some enemy tanks, memorable plays in Battlefield 2042 require a massive amount of luck to pull off. While there are many players in each server, the maps are massive, and memorable moments require enemies to be in the right place at the right time. With players not being able to control how their opponents will play, there is no telling when clip-worthy footage will occur. When memorable scenarios do play out, one player will usually have to be the unlucky one, falling victim to an enemy. However, Reddit user BabenHD managed to display both good and bad luck in just a few seconds.

The first part of the clip from the Battlefield 2042 player shows everything going in their favor. After a massive jump that sees them land upright in one of the game’s vehicles, the player’s bouncy ride ends with their vehicle parked right next to an enemy tank. Clearly, the players inside the vehicle are worried that BabenHD will C4 the tank and take it out, so they begin to exit the vehicle in an attempt to stop that from happening. The Redditor guns down two of these enemy players before swapping to their C4 detonator.

After tossing some charges on the back of the tank, the player detonates them, destroying the vehicle like many others have done in the various Battlefield games. While this would have been a solid enough clip on its own, as the player pulled off a smooth multi-kill, their luck instantly shifts. As soon as the enemy tank blows up, they are run over by another vehicle. The enemy driver comes out of nowhere, wasting no time taking out BabenHD.

The sudden change from success to failure is hilarious, as is the way that the player ragdolls after being hit. They fly across the sandy ground, bouncing for several seconds before being sent back to Battlefield 2042’s respawn screen. Thus far, the clip has received 3,600 upvotes, with many players on the official Battlefield subreddit getting a kick out of the player’s success and unexpected failure. In the comments, Redditor Salpygidis provides the perfect description of the clip, with the user calling it “peak Battlefield.”

With Battlefield 2042’s leaked Exposure map right around the corner, players will soon have a new location to use for their stunts and impressive plays. Hopefully, the map will lead to more entertaining moments like the one seen in this video.

Battlefield 2042 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
