Today, DICE and Electronic Arts have stepped forward to provide some official details regarding the four forthcoming pieces of paid DLC for the World War I-inspired first-person shooter, Battlefield 1. However, while fans are surely excited by the prospect of getting a first-ever glimpse at the content for the expansions beyond They Shall Not Pass, they might be disappointed to learn that the developer and publisher have only offered up morsels of information instead of a full-fledged rundown for the game's next add-ons.

To start, DICE and Electronic Arts reintroduce Battlefield 1 fans to some elements of They Shall Not Pass by reminding them that the expansion is set to send players to World War I era France, letting fans fight across four French maps, take control of the Char 2C tank – the game's newest behemoth class vehicle – and, of course, play as the French army. After They Shall Not Pass releases, the companies have revealed that fans will then get the chance to acquire expansions centered around Russia, Turkey, and Belgium.

The second expansion for Battlefield 1 is going to be called "Name of the Tsar," in which players will take control of the Russian army. Players will be able to ride "with the legendary Hussars," and take part in the Great War's biggest front with DICE and Electronic Arts' take on the historic Brusilov offensive and Albion assault.

Just like with They Shall Not Pass, Battlefield 1's Name of the Tsar expansion is set to include four new maps. However, instead of the French countryside, players should expect to fight in areas like snow-covered ravines and a freezing archipelago.

Battlefield 1's third expansion has been titled "Turning Tides," which has a naval focus. As far as vehicles are concerned, a new destroyer and coastal class airship will be available in the Turkish-themed expansion.

In Turning Tides, players will be able to experience the amphibious warfare of World War I. Although the number of maps haven't been confirmed, fans ought to anticipate engaging in the Zeebrugge Raid, storming the beaches of Gallipoli, and more.

The final piece of paid content that's currently planned for Battlefield 1 is simply named "Apocalypse," evoking imagery of the sheer scale of destruction from the Great War's global reach. As DICE and Electronic Arts explain, Apocalypse is set to include "the most infamous battles of WW1."

Furthermore, Battlefield 1's Belgian-themed Apocalypse expansion will include "brutal tools and unique weapons born out of desperation and deadlock." Nevertheless, developers have yet to confirm exactly what these weapons will be.

All of the aforementioned expansions for Battlefield 1 are going to come with new maps, armies, weapons, and more, so there's a high likelihood of DICE and Electronic Arts providing more specific details of the DLC packages' offerings as they get closer to release. However, the developers didn't declare launch windows for any of the expansions.

Those that purchase the Premium Pass, though, will receive all four add-ons, including two weeks of early access as they're released, priority server access, as well as 14 superior-level battlepacks that contain a plethora of in-game cosmetics to unlock. Taking all of this into consideration, it will be interesting to see if Battlefield 1 sales start to uptick as these DLC packs get released.

Battlefield 1 is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
