About a year ago, the veteran Batman voice actor, Kevin Conroy, stated that Rocksteady Studios had no additional plans for more Arkham games at that point in time, which dashed the hopes of many a Dark Knight fan for a possible return to the series. Despite this, Conroy recently mentioned that he believes there are still potential ways in which the Caped Crusader could live on in the Arkham universe.

As seen in response to a fan on Twitter who declared that they believe Rocksteady is effectively finished with using Bruce Wayne as Batman, Conroy chimed in to say that he "can think of ways to have Bats still evolve in the Arkham world". While the voice actor didn't expound upon his statement, the mere fact that he spoke up about the series led to myriad fans responding with their own theories as to how the Arkham-verse could continue with the Dark Knight at the helm.

For those who have been out of the loop on Batman video game news as of late, there have been multiple rumors flying around that point toward prospective titles focusing on the World's Greatest Detective being in the works. One example of such scuttlebutt came out of a recent tease from an Assistant Producer at WB Games Montreal that hinted at the possibility of there being a Court of Owls project in development. Of course, it's too early to tell if that is indeed the case, much less if the game would even be set in the Arkham series.

There has also been loads of hearsay pertaining to Batman's potential involvement in a Justice League title, with another rumor linked to WB Games Montreal inferring that its next project involves co-op mechanics, and will revolve around the DC Comics super team. Naturally, this speculation has been unsubstantiated so far, but Conroy has previously stated that he'd "love" to do a Justice League game.

Taking all of this into consideration, we will simply have to wait and see what's in the cards for the next Batman title, and if it will even be connected to the Arkham-verse in any way whatsoever. Rocksteady Studios has yet to confirm or deny that the Dark Knight will be a part of what it's working on, but we do know that Superman is not the developer's next game.

The most recent entry in the Arkham series is Batman: Arkham Knight, which is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
