It’s no secret that Fortnite and DC have been getting along rather well. Over the past few years, Epic Games has added numerous skins modeled after characters from DC Comics including Batman, Green Arrow, and The Suicide Squad’s Bloodsport. Moreover, the the two media franchises recently had a comic book crossover event in Batman: Zero Pointwhich not only wrapped up last month, but also set the stage for more comic book events in the future.

It’s all too likely that these collaborations between DC Comics and Fortnite will only continue going forward, and should a fresh batch of characters step onto the Battle Bus, it would be nice to see some more of DC’s iconic villains enter the fray. Of DC’s star bad guys, Batman’s rogues gallery has to have some of the most eligible contestants for the battle royale game.

Black Mask

Black Mask in Batman Arkham

Black Mask is a long-time member of Batman’s main cast of villains, and was recently featured in last year’s Birds of Prey as the film’s primary antagonist. In-universe, Black Mask knows his way around a gun, possesses a genius-level intellect, and has proven to be an all-around competent fighter capable of taking on Batman himself. In all, he seems like he’d fit into Fortnite just fine; he’s even got a stylish, unique cosmetic — the eponymous Black Mask.

Riddler

When building in Fortnite, players have to think of how their creations will help them outlast the competition. Sometimes it’s as simple as creating a high vantage point to shoot down at players from, other times one may have to engage in fast-paced box fights. This creative, yet deadly way of thinking is par for the course when it comes to the Riddler, whose flashy design would match the eccentric nature of Fortnite perfectly.

Mr. Freeze

Mr. Freeze in Batman Arkham City

The ice-cold villain Mr. Freeze’s signature freeze gun seems like it’d be an excellent weapon to feature in a DC-themed limited time mode akin to the event mode that ran alongside Avengers: Endgame’s theatrical release. It’s hard to think of a better design to go with for the character’s hypothetical Fortnite appearance than his Arkham one, which, despite having a gritty nature reminiscent of the Nolan trilogy, still looks kind of cartoonish, just like Fortnite.

Tw0-Face

Two-Face as depicted in The Dark Knight

Two-Face is a ruthless criminal who has historically used a wide variety of armaments, so he’ll have no problem shooting his way across the island. While the villain has boasted several vastly different appearances across comics, TV, film, and games, his The Dark Knight incarnation seems like it would be the most appropriate one to adapt to Fortnite. There’s already a Batman skin inspired by the feature film, so it makes sense to give him a counterpart in Harvey Dent.

Red Hood

Red Hood is really more of an anti-hero, but he generally starts out as a villain in most media depictions. Like many others listed here, Jason Todd is a very skilled fighter, having learned from Batman himself during his time as Robin. Despite his unpopularity during his stint as the boy wonder, Jason Todd has grown into one of DC’s most popular characters following his donning of the Red Hood name. He’s headlined various comics, an animated film, and is even set to star in the upcoming video game Gotham Knights. As such, it would be a delight to see the crimson-cowled member of the Bat-Family represented in Fortnite as well.
