Creative fan art displays an alternate take on DC Comics superhero Batman. This fan art takes Robert Pattinson's Batman and switches the look of the cowl to match Adam West's costume.

This is a crossover nobody expected but many liked. Both versions of Batman stand on opposite ends of the spectrum, as West's Caped Crusader took inspiration from the earlier Detective Comics world, which means he had a much more lighthearted attitude and brighter costume. Pattinson's Batman is more recent, so his character is much more grounded, brutal, angry, and merciless when he fights.

Seeing this fan-made Batman crossover is very cool, to say the least. It makes West's Batman appear more realistic than it did during the vintage fan-favorite television show. Many enjoyed what the actor brought to the character, and it came out at the perfect time when Batman wasn't taken as seriously as a character. Now Batman has many different portrayals across film, television, video games, and animated movies.

The image was posted by Instagram user HouseOfMAt, who has a lot more fan art on their page that takes inspiration from many popular culture figures such as The Boys, Avengers, Cyberpunk, and Batman, to name a few. A lot of the artwork fits the theme of the image above, including a piece that imagines Homelander as Superman.

Unfortunately for fans, they'll have to keep on hoping if they want to see Pattinson don the West suit because The Batman will try to establish the Dark Knight as a conflicted and tortured character. The lighthearted theme of the West series wouldn't fit too well with the direction that director Matt Reeves appears to be taking The Batman. The trailer had a much more angry Bruce Wayne and a lot of shots that lacked lighting.

Pattinson is already gaining traction as fans' favorite Batman and the movie isn't even out yet. Many were taken back by the trailer when they saw the quick fight scene where Batman mercilessly beats up an assailant. Hopefully, the film lives up to the expectations that fans have for the character. Batman has been recast more times than Spider-Man at this point, so hopefully, fans get a chance to walk away with something memorable.

The Batman will be in theaters on March 4, 2022.
