Batman is one of the oldest and most popular superheroes out there. He first appeared in the comics all the way back in May 1939. Batman has had multiple live-action feature films over the years but he most recently appeared in the DCEU, portrayed by Ben Affleck. Batman's less than sunny personality might make it seem like there's no chance to make fun of him, but the fans are creative and they managed it anyway - by making various memes about the caped crusader.

The truth is there are plenty of things about Batman that prove the DCEU movies make no sense. Some of them are more obvious while others take longer to figure out but will still lead to a few raised eyebrows.

10 Instant Besties

Batman meme

All it took to stop Batman from killing Superman was learning his mother's name. If Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne took the time to chat more at Lex Luthor's party, they could have saved themselves the trouble. Sharing their moms' names isn't a typical topic for the first time a person meets someone. But it would still work better in this scenario than when they were fighting and Clark stopped Bruce by screaming, "Save Martha!" Then again, if Superman and Batman became instant besties, there would be no final fight between them.

9 Thank You, Captain Obvious

Batman meme

If Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne ever tires of the name "Batman," he can take on the superhero nickname "Captain Obvious." Bruce is supposed to be an intelligent man, the greatest detective out there. Despite that, he has the tendency to state the obvious in the movies. Everybody can see that Cyborg can control computers. Just as Aquaman knows he can communicate with sea life. If it continues the same way, Bruce will end up stating that Green Lantern's clothes are green and that the Flash, the fastest man alive, is really fast. Get a grip, Bruce.

8 The Difficult Equation

Batman meme

Many fans weren't so happy about the change of Bruce's character. In most of the comics, Batman doesn't like killing people. He could have killed the Joker multiple times but always spared his life. However, in the DCEU, Batman's moral principles vanished. He doesn't go around murdering people every day, but he has killed criminals before, multiple times. And he was even ready to murder Superman.

7 A Secret Fan

Batman meme

Batman goes through some serious mood swings in the DCEU. At first, he spends an entire movie plotting how he'll kill Superman. Then he changes his mind all of a sudden. Subsequently, Batman spends an entire movie trying to figure out how to bring Superman back.

And when Superman shows up, Batman does something out of character; he smiles. The conclusion is that Batman is secretly a Superman fan. Wonder Woman notices it and she's quick to call Bruce out on his lies.

6 The Power Couple

Batman meme

In the DCEU, Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince have strong chemistry. They flirt a little and become friends, but Wonder Woman's still hung up on Steve Trevor, even though he died almost a hundred years ago. While it's okay the films made Batman and Wonder Woman friends and not a couple, it still felt like a missed opportunity. This is especially true since this storyline ended rather abruptly. At least this meme fixes it and shows what could have been.

5 Just Have A Talk

Batman meme

It wouldn't be much of a superhero film filled with action if Superman and Batman talked out their problems instead. The fact still is the conflict between them in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice feels somewhat forced. For one, Lex Luthor relies on the fact Batman will act the way he wants him to. And Batman, of all people, is truly unpredictable. Yet if he learned more about Superman before actually fighting him, who knows how the whole movie might turn out.

4 Batman Should Learn From Others

Batman meme

Batman has a reputation to uphold. He strives to bring terror into the hearts of his enemies. Yet despite that, he had multiple romantic relationships in the comics and films as well.

It's only in the DCEU where Batman, inexplicably, flies solo. Even though other superheroes have had their romances and some even made them work in the long term. Batman should learn a lesson from his fellow superheroes.

3 The Inner Trauma

Batman funny boyfriend looking meme

The jealous girlfriend meme is a classic. And fans applied it to a large number of fandoms and fictional characters, including Batman. By the time Bruce Wayne shows up in the DCEU, he's no longer super young. The comic-book Batman has managed to build a semblance of life by this time. He has a family, a lot of superhero friends, and even dated. Bruce, on the other hand, is alone, kills people, and plots to murder Superman. Yet besides Alfred, no-one ever points out that there's something seriously wrong with him.

2 A Villain Or A Hero

Batman meme

Batman is a complicated person. He's not as cheerful, optimistic, and open in the comics as other superheroes. Yet he still has moral principles. One of them is he doesn't kill people. The DCEU showed another version of Batman, and not everyone liked it. A lot of people objected it wasn't like Batman to go around murdering people. Perhaps the DCEU's Batman is too unhinged but it doesn't make sense based on what he's like in the comics.

1 Superman Needs To Know

Batman meme

There's nothing wrong with Robert Pattinson playing the new Batman. Pattinson has appeared in many intriguing movies, and he pulled of difficult roles. What makes his casting as Batman confusing is the fact that Batman will obviously have to switch face. That doesn't make much sense in the context of the recent movies, even if The Batman will stand separately from the DCEU. Two Batmen in a just few years are simply one Batman too many.
