Now, you should know that I loved the TMNT arcade games, loved Streets of Rage, and whole lot of other brawlers growing up. And I also really enjoyed the more recent Castle Crashers. But for whatever reason, this game just does not do it for me…at least based on the media they have shown and some limited hands-on time at E3.
The trailer is right below this text, so go ahead and watch it now and we can chat more after…
What do my fellow Ranters think?
I think part of the problem might be that I am not a huge fan of the Brave and the Bold cartoon. I like cartoons, so it is not that I am “too old” to get it. And I understand what they are trying to do with the show, too. But it just does not connect with me. Maybe I have a hard time accepting any Batman cartoons that are not Batman: The Animated Series. So that could be part of the disconnect for me. Or maybe I just loved Batman: Arkham Asylum too much and am too excited for part 2, so that I have a hard time accepting this “other” take on Batman.
But hey, I am not everyone. I do think there is a lot to get excited about with this game. For starters, it is more Batman. Also, brawlers are almost always solid games to play with friends and a great way to spend a weekend blowing off some steam. And this game’s graphics look great, with big character models and bright backgrounds that really mimic the show well. There really is a lot to like, so I am not sure why I am not sold on the game yet.
Someone help me out. Let’s get a discussion going on what you guys are thinking. Anyone really excited for this game, or is it falling into your “meh” stack too?
