Batman: Arkham VR's timed exclusivity on PlayStation 4 is coming to an end. The first-person VR adventure game launches on PC for the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive on April 25. Batman: Arkham VR puts players into Batman's cape and cowl in a way that's closer to reality (or fiction) than ever realized prior. Players will toss Batarangs, investigate crime scenes in Detective Mode, and hunt down members of Batman's rogues gallery. And now they will be able to do it on PC, too.

Widely regarded as one of PlayStation VR's strongest titles, Batman Arkham VR's PlayStation 4 exclusivity has long been known. After all, it's published by Warner Bros. and not Sony, and WB's never been one for platform exclusivity. The question was simply how long the timed exclusivity would last. With the limited number of titles being made for VR at this point in time, the longer the exclusivity the better for PlayStation VR. But it seems that 6 months was the limit of the timed exclusivity deal.

Batman Arkham VR is the fifth title in the action game franchise of the same name and is even developed by the same studio, Rocksteady Studios. The game takes place some time after Batman: Arkham City, but prior to Batman: Arkham Knight. However, that timeline is unofficial. It's unclear whether Rocksteady will continue making Batman games in the future, which could mean that Batman Arkham VR is Rocksteady's last foray in the franchise.

Other PlayStation VR timed exclusives are also running up to the end of their contracts. 100ft Robot Golf launched on PC this past week. Robinson: The Journey launched on PC in early February. Battlezone has yet to be announced for PC just yet. And of course Resident Evil 7's the big question on everyone's mind. Without a doubt, Resident Evil 7 is PlayStation VR's biggest release. We've already passed 6 months, so it's reasonable to assume RE7 might be locked into a year-long exclusivity contract.

Batman: Arkham VR is currently available on PlayStation 4 and will launch on PC for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive on April 25.
