Throughout the Batman Arkham series, fans met tons of iconic heroes and villains. One that always remains consistent in every entry is Edward Nygma, otherwise known as The Riddler. Armed with an impressive and dangerous intellect, he strives to best Batman in any intellectual way possible. Time and time again, he toys with Batman with different games and puzzles to try and outsmart the Dark Knight.

Even in his inflated intellectual ego, he always plays his games fairly and by his own rules. Let’s take a look through the entire Arkham series and remember some of the more challenging puzzles the Riddler has crafted to try and outsmart The Bat.

10 Simon Says – Arkham City

In Arkham City, the Riddler has stepped his game up from Arkham Asylum and nearly doubled his collectible trophies. A repetitive and mind-numbing game of Simon Says with Batarangs near the docks on the far east of the city has stopped players in their tracks.

Unless you are good at Simon Says or want a challenge, this might take some time. Otherwise, the combination for each challenge is; 1-3-5-2-4 for the first one, 4-3-1-5-2, for the second and 3-5-2-1-4 for the last one.

9 Flight School – Arkham Knight

In Arkham Knight, the Riddler's challenges revolve around the nine keys, which represent Catwoman's nine lives. The fifth challenge requires lots of gliding and air control and is one of the few challenges that doesn't involve the Batmobile.

Falling is a significant risk in this challenge, and failing will result in a full restart. To avoid this, use the Batmobile's ejection feature multiple times to go to the first few gates. You need momentum, and backtracking back to the Batmobile is worth it.

8 Advanced Deathtraps -Arkham Knight

One of the hardest challenges is the second to last trial before you face the Riddler. The eighth challenge involves cooperation between Batman and Catwoman to solve a maze puzzle. Players will rush into this maze and quickly fail it. If you slow down for a moment, there is a better solution.

A board with lights on across the room tells you where to go. Follow the pattern of where you need to walk for each character. But, when each participant gets halfway through, the board starts spinning. There is no time limit, so wait for the board to face upright and continue moving forward.

7 The Wheel – Arkham City

In the Industrial District, there is a Riddler puzzle on the border wall marked with a wheel full of question marks. The wheel will light up one question mark, and the rest follow before spinning around.

The way to finish this challenge is to follow the correct starting light with your eyes as best as you can or repeat trial and error. If all else fails, record the challenge with your phone and play it back in slow motion. The wheel is not consistent with its finishing placement, so constant guessing in the same spot might not fully prove effective.

6 Roof Top Vents – Arkham City

On the far east side of The Bowery, you will find a small vent that only a single Batarang will fit in. This challenge is tough for its tight space within the vent that you have to turn the Batarang around corners to hit a button.

The trick to completing this task is going through the entire vent in slow motion. Use the Batarang's backflip feature in corners for extra room. Otherwise, going through too fast or flipping too early will destroy the Batarang. Slow and steady wins this challenge.

5 Extortion File 7 – Arkham Origins

Arkham Origins is the prequel to the series and establishes the background of some characters and what they will do in the later games. Instead of collecting trophies, you are collecting Extortion Files, and one of the harder ones is ontop of Penguin's boat in Amusement Mile.

It requires shock gloves to start and a timed button press without touching the ground. After triggering the first button, grapple upward and fly down to the other buttons. This challenge has a timer, so know where the buttons are before you start the clock.

4 Extortion File 3 – Arkham Origins

There is a datapad in the Bowery on top of the Soder Cola building that you cannot grapple. The way to beat this challenge is to use gliding and lots of momentum. A tower with gargoyle statues is next to the building, so fly a loop around the building, and launch yourself off towards it.

Halfway there, you will start to lose speed, so do a short divebomb, and pull back to fly higher and land on the desired spot. This trick requires, on average, a few attempts, so do not get discouraged.

3 Six Button Cage – Arkham City

Back in the Amusement Mile, there is a two-level cage that requires six buttons triggers in under three seconds. The cage is too big and narrow to climb in between, but so long as you have explosive gel and Batarangs, you can do it.

Spray the top buttons with gel and run between the cages on the bottom and throw a quick Batarang. After you hit all three, quickly detonate the gel, and you will finish the challenge. However, if you are more of a quickdraw, you can spray the bottom buttons and spam Batarangs at the top buttons instead.

2 Hidden Stair Wall – Arkham Asylum

Arkham Asylum was the first in the series and has the easiest Riddler trophies compared to the other entries. However, one trophy watches more players walk by than any other in the game.

By the Intensive Treatment building, there is an open path in the side of the mountain. When entering, there is a Ghost of Arkham statue next to another door. Before walking through that door, there is a wall you can pull down with the Ultra Batclaw. A lot of players missed this trophy, do not let it fool you too.

1 Spaced Out Switches

In Park Row against the wall, there are four spaced out question marks all across the borderline. They are too far apart to hit with Batarangs in under five seconds. The best way to complete this challenge is to mark the further ones with explosive gel and Batarang the closest to the trophy.

After performing this trick on a few other challenges and this one, many of the other Riddler trophies become a lot easier to obtain. If you want to get all of these trophies, sometimes it's better to wait until you finish the game and come back fully equipped.
