‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ Limited Edition PS4 Console Revealed

By | 2 years ago

PlayStation is no stranger to releasing special edition consoles alongside major game releases or for special occasions. In just the last year, the console maker has released a limited run 20th Anniversary PlayStation 4 console that paid homage to the original PlayStation, as well as game-themed consoles for The Last of Us, Destiny, The Evil Within, and Bloodborne.

PlayStation today announced the next entry in their game-themed console series: Batman Arkham Knight. Similar to past special edition consoles, the Batman: Arkham Knight PlayStation 4 bundle will come with a limited edition Steel Grey PS4 system, complete with a Batman: Arkham Knight faceplate, a matching DualShock 4 wireless controller, and the final game in the Arkham series.

These special edition game-themed consoles have obviously been extremely popular in the past and have no doubt helped PlayStation maintain its lead with current-gen console sales. While the special edition console does cost a little more, the price difference is small enough that gamers who have put off buying PlayStation’s current-gen console may be more willing to open their wallets, especially considering they’re getting something more unique than the generic machine.

Batman PS4 Bundle

From among the many special edition consoles PlayStation has sold, we admit this one may be our favorite. From the slick Steel Grey to the minimalist Batman silhouette, this is a good-looking machine. So, those Dark Knight fans who have waited to purchase a PlayStation 4, now is the time to buy. The special edition bundle is $450, only $50 more than the console by itself.

Those who do purchase the bundle will also receive bonus game content before it’s available to anyone else. This includes additional in-game missions and custom skins for Batman and the Batmobile. While this may not sound like much to some gamers, it’s a nice addition on top of the impressive hardware.

PlayStation is also offering an additional Batman: Arkham Knight bundle for $400, though this bundle will not include the limited edition console. Rather, this second bundle will include the generic black PlayStation 4 console, along with Batman: Arkham Knight. It will also include early access to the bonus content.

Both consoles can be preordered now and will be available when Batman: Arkham Knight releases on June 23.
