Buy Batman: Arkham Knight on PC, Get the Whole Series Free

Batman Possibilities Warner Bros

PC gamers that purchase Batman: Arkham Knight before November 16th will be given free access to Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and every other game in the series.

The summer's biggest game was undoubtedly Batman: Arkham Knight, the title meant to cap off the epic series that Rocksteady started with Batman: Arkham Asylum. Console gamers were able to enjoy the game without many significant problems, but the Batman: Arkham Knight experience was another story entirely for PC gamers.

As many know, Batman: Arkham Knight on PC was completely broken at launch, ultimately resulting in an official apology from Warner Bros. and the game being pulled from Steam. In an attempt to regain consumer trust after this inexcusable debacle, Warner Bros. has announced that those that own the PC version of Arkham Knight will get every other game in the series for free.

All players have to do is purchase Arkham Knight for PC by November 16th, and they will have access to Arkham AsylumArkham CityArkham Origins, and Arkham Origins - Blackgate by December. This deal also applies to those that purchased the broken version of the game at launch, albeit not for those that received a refund for the game.

Batman Arkham Knight PC Relaunch

Rocksteady's giving spirit doesn't stop there, however. As another way to try to make up for the horrific PC launch of Arkham Knight earlier this year, the studio is creating a Community Challenge Pack, which will be released as free DLC in January. As an added bonus for PC gamers, they will be able to enjoy the Community Challenge pack a week earlier than those playing on console.

And finally, even more free stuff is on the way thanks to an upcoming fan contest hosted as a joint collaboration between Warner Bros. and Valve, tasking players with designing Batman-themed items for Team Fortress 2. Anyone that owns Batman: Arkham Knight will then have free access to these items in Team Fortress 2 once the contest is over and winners have been selected.

It definitely seems like Rocksteady and Warner Bros. are regretful about the tumultuous PC launch of Arkham Knight, but their attempt to shower players with free stuff may not be a definite path to rebuilding consumer trust. After all, Warner Bros. knew about Arkham Knight's problems on PC before they even shipped the game, a fact that has left many fans outraged, and understandably so.

batman arkham knight patch fixes game

Furthermore, Arkham Knight isn't the only Warner Bros. game to have a pathetic PC launch compared to its console counterparts this year. As some may recall, the PC version of Mortal Kombat X had serious online issues as well, though at least it didn't take four months to fix it.

One has to credit WB and Rocksteady for trying to win back consumer trust, though their efforts may not be enough. Arkham Knight was one of the biggest games of the year, and PC gamers were given a horrendous product that forced them to wait four months longer than console gamers to properly experience it. Time will tell if these incentives bring back those that have been burned by WB, but it may too little too late.

Batman: Arkham Knight is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
