We’re wrangling up all the trailers this week that slipped through the cracks. From dragons to vampires, Penthouse Pets to Planeswalkers, and the Dark Knight to Agent 47, we’ve been given a very generous offering of trailers this week.
In this roundup, we are treated with the latest trailers for Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition, Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013, DARK, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Saints Row: The Third, Dust 514, Crimson Dragon, Hitman: Absolution, ShootMania Storm, and PlanetSide 2.
Let’s round ’em up!
First, we’re going to start off with everyone’s favorite caped crusader. Without a doubt, Arkham City was one of the most celebrated games of 2011 and hence, Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition is being released, shipping with a new Harley Quinn story expansion. Rocksteady Games would like to invite players behind the scenes to take a look at the voice talent of the game. This video features the work of Kevin Conroy (Batman), Mark Hamill (The Joker), and Stana Katic (Talia al Ghul).
The Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition and Harley Quinn’s Revenge DLC are set for release May 29th on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Magic the Gathering anyone? Become a Planeswalker in Magic the Gathering: Duesl of the Planeswalker 2013. Spells will be cast and strategies will be mastered. With 10 new complete decks and all new Planechase multiplayer, Duels of the Planeswalker aims to be all out epic. Can you conquer the new menancing challenge?
Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 is scheduled to release this summer for the iPad, Xbox Live Arcade, Steam, and PlayStation Network.
Introducing DARK, a new third-person stealth action game with RPG elements. Players will fill the shoes of a vampire that is looking to uncover the truth behind a mysterious corporation who may have their hands on the strings of many puppets. Throughout the game, players boost skills through experience that will increase melee attacks and abilities that can make for better evasive maneuvers. This teaser works well visually – let’s hope that the gameplay looks just as good.
Stealth will be an important ally, in a world that has been covered in darkness. DARK will give players the traditional vampire abilities including superior strength and quick reflexes that allow the character to turn into smoke and disappear. DARK takes place in an urban dwelling so castles, museums, skyscrapers, and more will be explored. Much like an RPG, attributes will be built through successful evasion and combat, while story will be progressed through conversations with NPCs.
DARK will be released early 2013 for Xbox 360 and PC. Check out more images on the official DARK Facebook page.
All-new exotic DLC is now available for Saints Row: The Third. This Penthouse Pet Pack includes luscious vixens: Heather Vandeven, Justine Joli, Ryan Keely, and Nikki Benz. Utilize these bodacious, butt-kicking babes to your posse and call them into combat anytime to battle the Syndicate. (Click to enlarge the image):
These girls may look harmless, but appearances are not always what they seem.
The Penthouse Pack for Saints Row: The Third is available now on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Steam for $3 or 240 Microsoft Points.
Want some more hardcore hotties? A new trailer for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has been released and introduces four new playable characters for the console game. Michelle, Angel, Kunimitsu, and Ancient Ogre (he’s not much eye candy) can all be taken into battle. Looking back at the announcement trailer, these characters will be great additions to Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be available on the Xbox 360 and PS3 come this September 2012.
Anticipating the release of DUST 514? Worried how it’s shaping up? Fear not ranters! CCP Games would like to invite everyone behind the scenes in with the latest developer diary. This is only just the beginning as this first dev diary will be part of a running series. “Welcome to New Eden” introduces the creative minds behind it all, including producer Thomas Farrer, creative director Atli Mar Sveinsson, and art director Richard Dimond. We see here what’s going to hook players and how it will work in conjunction with the EVE Online universe.
DUST 514 is set to launch in 2012, exclusively on PlayStation 3.
Do you miss Star Fox? What if Star Fox was on a planet full of dragons, and instead of Arwings, you rode said dragons? This is what Crimson Dragon is in a nutshell and honestly, bring it on. Utilizing Kinect, Crimson Dragon takes players to Planet Draco, a human colonized planet that has lost contact with Earth. Teach dragons new skills and train them to become stronger to endure fiercer combat. Somebody better call in Hiccup of Berk.
Crimson Dragon will be out for the Xbox 360 via XBLA in Japan in June, but has no set date for other regions.
We’ve seen the announcement trailer. We’ve seen the official trailer. Now IO Interactive wants to take gamers behind the scenes of the making of Hitman: Absolution‘s Sniper Challenge. This six-minute short documentary gives us a look at how the developers had such a great time experimenting with this “one of a kind” pre-order exclusive. Ironically, this pre-order started off as an experiment in-house with the developers and they thought it was so fun they turned it into something that everyone who bought the game early could enjoy. Take a look:
Hitman: Absolution is scheduled for global release on November 20, 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
Earlier this year, Ubisoft announced details for their upcoming PC FPS multiplayer extravaganza, ShootMania Storm. Well we have our first look at the title in it’s announcement trailer. This video is insane! It’s like Tron landed in the Medieval times and wrote a love letter to Tribes. The game looks incredibly fast paced, intense, and tons of fun.
No official date is set for ShootMania Storm, but expect it out on the PC and hopefully sooner rather than later.
When heading off to battle, the song, “Flight of the Valkyrie” is pretty much one of the most suitable anthems to blair when going into air combat. Unfortunately, this trailer for PlanetSide 2 does not make very good use of the song. While the original PlanetSide celebrates its 9th anniversary this week, Sony Online Entertainment has shared a new air-focused trailer for its sequel, one that doesn’t quite hit the mark.
The game sets itself out to be an action game, but it’s the slowest paced trailer anyone could come up with, and it fails to showcase much combat or excitement – something they should look towards DICE and their Battlefield 3 gameplay trailers for as an example of how to do this right with large scale battles.
There is no set release date for PlanetSide 2.
