There's a very good chance that you fans of Batman: Arkham City are still working your way through the seemingly endless array of side missions and Riddler challenges, so the proposition of even more content may seem a bit daunting. But whether you like it or not, Nightwing is coming to Arkham City very soon. Luckily, some footage of Batman's former ward has made its way online.
When Rocksteady first announced that they would in fact be bringing Nightwing to the already accomplished title (read our review) there was no doubt some who thought that Grayson's inclusion was somewhat pointless, since one Robin was already invited to the party. The announcement trailer showed off some of Nightwing's unique combat, his electrified escrima sticks in particular, and a preference of gymnastics over fisticuffs.
But now some gameplay footage has made its way online from the London MCM Expo, showing off far more of the hero of Bludhaven's signature style. Now that we can see the character in extended action, we think you'll agree that he warrants his very own DLC package.
Take a look for yourself:
We'll be the first to say that some may find a hero bludgeoning criminals to death with steel pipes a bit rough, but you can't argue with its effectiveness. Whether it's flipping through the air, catapulting one enemy into another, or throwing in a few arm-bars for good measure, It already seems that the developers have expanded on some of Arkham City's more satisfying combat for Nightwing. And considering the treatment that the various incarnations of Robin have received over the years, we'd say it's about time.
The Nightwing DLC is available for download on November 1 for $ 6.99 (or 560 MS Points) and includes two Challenge Maps: Wayne Manor and Main Hall. The Animated Series skin is a little bland compared to Rocksteady's updated costume, but the chance to crush skulls within Bruce Wayne's own house may just be too good to pass up.
Will you be picking up the Nightwing DLC? Or did you not see enough uniqueness in the gameplay footage to warrant a purchase? Leave us your thoughts in the comments.
Batman: Arkham City is available now for the Xbox 360 and PS3, with a PC release scheduled for November 15.
