Batman: Arkham City continues to be recognized as one of the most anticipated games of this year. The sequel to the smash hit Batman: Arkham Asylum has had fans practically frothing at the mouth with every new tidbit of information that has surfaced. From the exclusion of multiplayer to the roster of villains, fans have been glued to their computers for anything they can find. Despite all the information that has been revealed so far, we've yet to see just how the game will play.

That changes today, as a trailer comprised of Arkham City gameplay has finally appeared. Not only does the trailer show off how impressive the game looks, it also works to comfort fans. Based on what is shown, such as the reworked gliding and Detective Mode, it's clear that Rocksteady Studios didn't go out of their way to try to reinvent the wheel. Instead, they just made improvements to game mechanics that were already considered excellent, so that Arkham City can be even better than its predecessor.

In addition to the new trailer, Rocksteady's marketing executive, Dax Ginn, took some time to talk about the game, particularly its length. He explained that Rocksteady didn't want to create a game that was so large players would have to take half a year off of work just to get through it. They were more worried about creating an excellent game with a great story, and were not concerned so much with its length.

As such, the game isn't very long. In fact, according to Ginn, if you played the game from start to finish without getting any of the extra items or completing any side quests, you could finish the game in about eight hours. Not the longest game in existence, but certainly enough to satisfy action game fans. However, if you were to go about and complete all the extra challenges and get all the items, then it would take you at least a full 24 hours to finish. That would certainly be enough for those who consider themselves completists.
