Despite the cancelation of DC's Batgirl movie, it looks like the film's star Leslie Grace still has some grateful things to say about the production. Not only did she seem to enjoy the actual shooting process, but her time performing with Brendan Fraser may have been one of the biggest highlights.

The abrupt (and arguably unwarranted) Batgirl cancellation still stings for folks, those involved with filming and simply the many who wanted to see it. It's understandable since plenty of big names were attached, including a handsomely paid Michael Keaton set to cameo as Batman. However, as much warranted negativity as there is surrounding discussions about the film, there still appears to be some things worth looking back on fondly. At least, Grace seems to think so.

In a recent interview with Collider, the Batgirl star excitedly spoke about getting to work with Fraser while simultaneously confirming all the kind words everyone has heard about the beloved actor. "Brendan, our villain, our Firefly, he was just so outstanding and so happy that he's having this incredible moment—this Brenaissance as everyone says," she gushed. "He's amazing. He's one of the kindest people in the world, and I felt so blessed to have him as my sparring partner. We had so many amazing action scenes together where we were beating each other up, but hugging in between takes because he's just so sweet."

Even though Fraser has had some critical things to say about Batgirl's cancelation, it looks like he made the experience pretty darn enjoyable for those who got to work with him. It seems like some of that rubbed off on Grace as well. "So I would've loved people to see those moments," she continued, "but you know what? You have the experience, and you keep on rolling, and I feel so blessed, all in all, that I have those memories and hopefully maybe in some future, some clips will arise and people will get to enjoy a little bit of it. But for now, we'll just have to keep it going as it going in comic folklore, I guess, with all of our memories and our stories while we can."

Fraser played Firefly, one of several villains set to appear in Batgirl. Unfortunately, viewers won't see what he came up with for the character, especially since he's been knocking it out of the park with his performances lately. Even if he wasn't part of the film, there are still tons of missed opportunities, such as the aforementioned Keaton cameo and some pretty snazzy-looking versions of Batgirl's superhero suit. But Fraser's presence alone adds a whole new air of wholesome fun.

Granted, maybe his role may not have been particularly wholesome, at least if it's anything like his character on the recently canceled Doom Patrol. But even so, more Fraser is pretty much always a good thing. Here's hoping he, Grace, and the rest of the Batgirl team get some much-deserved lucrative opportunities to make up for everything.
